Jessup University opened its baseball season in dominant fashion Friday afternoon, blasting three home runs in a 9-1 win over Chico State. The Warriors are coming off of a National Christian College Athletic Association national championship and are now eligible for NCAA postseason play this year. The fog and cold temperatures were not enough to keep the crowd away or put a damper on opening day as Sierra College faced off against Cosumnes River at McBean Stadium to begin the 2026 college baseball season. It’s always a physical game when PVL rivals Colfax and Bear River get together. The Falcons notched their third straight win over the Bruins Friday night, securing a 68-53 victory to improve to 16-3 overall and 5-0 in PVL play. First SFL doubleheader of the year last night as rivals Del Oro and Rocklin faced off. The Lady Eagles used 11-0 and 19-1 runs to soar past the Thunder, while Rocklin hung on for a gritty win in the boys game. In between the two, Del Oro honored the 2025 NorCal championship softball team that finished the season ranked No. 10 nationally. Some of my favorite shots from last night here.

The Kendall Arnett just means more. Placer made a spirited comeback last night, defeating Del Oro 76-73 to claim the 83rd Kendall Arnett championship. The Hillmen are now 15-1 heading into FVL play.
