What is Yoga?
Yoga is a way of life. There is much more to yoga than exercise and poses. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India thousands of years ago. The ultimate goal of yoga is to attain tranquility in the mind and spirit, making this possible by yoga poses and meditation. It is holistic in that yoga is practiced physically, but it’s benefits extend to the mental and spiritual being. Yoga is not a religion – it’s techniques are practiced by Buddists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and Athiests. All of us! Release yourself to the benefits of Yoga! It’s all about You!
This is very exciting for us! There are eight limbs of yoga:
• Yamas – truth, nonviolence, control of sexual energy, non-stealing, non-covetousness.
• Niyamas – austerities, purity, contentment, study, surrender of the ego.
• Asanas – steady poses
• Pranayama – control of vital energy
• Pratyahara – withdrawal of the senses.
• Dharana – concentration of the mind, focus.
• Dhyana – meditation
• Samadhi – the most supreme conscious state.
We will have updates to describe each limb of yoga in detail and many other items you will like to know. We have several events planned for the coming year and are very happy to have you as clients and in our lives. We thank each and every one of you for the special person you are and we look forward to seeing your special faces in 2018!!! Remember…It’s All about YOU!
