We are back in action this weekend at Battle of the Borders in Kenosha, Wisconsin!

After a strong showing at Zoom Into June East, our athletes are ready to keep building momentum against another talented field of competition. Looking forward to another weekend of great competition and continuing our recruiting journey. Wheatland Spikes Wheatland Athletic Association

Congratulations to one of our Wheatland Spikes, McKenna Woodcock, on being named to the 2026 ICA 1A All-State Second Team!

A fearless competitor, dynamic utility player, and game-changer on both sides of the ball. The recognition is well earned and a testament to her hard work, grit, and love for the game.

We’re adding 2–3 players for the upcoming season. We need a PITCHER and are open to ALL positions.

• Wed, June 10 — 5:00–7:30 PM — WAA Sports Complex, 2323 Liberty St, Aurora
• Mon, July 6 — 4:30 PM pitchers & catchers / 5:00–7:00 PM all positions — Crossroads Sports Complex, 3003 S. Eola Rd, Aurora

NEXT UP…. Battle of the Borders

Five games. Five opportunities to compete. Five opportunities to be evaluated by college coaches. We had 3 athletes play in the showcase games and represent Spikes at the showcase camp.

This weekend wasn’t just about wins and losses—it was about showcasing who we are as players, teammates, and competitors.

The girls put on a show all weekend long with diving catches, double plays, multi-base hits, shutdown pitching performances, and countless hustle plays that don’t always show up in the box score. Most importantly, they competed for each other and represented the Wheatland Spikes organization with pride, toughness, and class.

With college coaches in our dugout for every game, our athletes embraced the moment and demonstrated the skill, softball IQ, work ethic, and character that make this group special.

Proud of every player, coach, and family who made the trip to Georgia. The summer season is just getting started, and this team showed exactly what Spikes softball is all about.

Before we lace ’em up for Triple Crown Fastpitch Zoom Into June East, the girls earned a night off the dirt and into the stands at Truist Park — and the Braves delivered a W to send us into the weekend right! 🙌

Nothing beats a little team bonding under the lights before tournament play begins. These ladies work hard, and they know how to have fun together too — that chemistry is what makes this group special. 💚🖤

Now it’s our turn to put on a show. Let’s go get it, Spikes! 🥎🔥
