BUT HOW DO YOU MEASURE PROGRESS WITHOUT WEIGH-INS?!

Honestly, it’s simple.

Take out anything that has to do with numbers and you get a lot.

Think about the last time you did something you never thought you could. I bet you weren’t thinking about how much you weigh when you accomplished it.

These are just five examples, we’ll actually ten, but there are so many more.

Numbers don’t mean s**t if this stuff doesn’t come with it.

The sooner you focus less on weight loss, the more real changes occur.

Haven’t you ever heard of someone saying, “It shows up when you least expect it”? Yea, put less focus on numbers and more on this other s**t and I’ll come.

I fu***ng promise.

Let me be your coach.

Hold up.

You’re meaning to tell me that you’re willing to completely throw in the towel when things don’t go exactly to plan?

This stops right now.

Share the slide out that hit you the hardest and tag a friend that needs this more than you.

Let me set the record straight.

(most) Personal trainers don’t get into this business to get rich. We get into it because we are so damn passionate and love to help people. But when someone wants to keep training, we hold on because we love them and it continues to pay us…

My longest clients have been upwards of six years.

The only reason why we stopped training is because one of us moved.

I love building a rapport with clients because I feel like I have been an integral part of their journey.

But when I work with clients now, I want you to gain so much knowledge and understanding of yourself and your goals, that we don’t have to do this forever.

A lot of my training has changed because of this fact. Instead of just showing up and telling you to do the exercises, I focus on getting you to understand your why so that you can better understand the why of exercise, programming and muscles worked.

Recently, I ran into an old running client I trained virtually for about two years. We worked together to get her marathon time down and she qualified for Boston.

She thanked me for helping her understand the value of strength training and now incorporates it on her own twice a week. These are the kind of success stories that mean the most to me.

I want to help get you there and stay consistent but then we work together to see the results drive you to continue on.

I work with 1:1 clients all the time doing this exact thing!

And as a side note: I’m not going to say no if you said “okay this is all cool Tara but I want to work with you forever,” but I will just be more sassy and friendship-y as well. 💗

I have a secret. 🤫

You can have fun without booze.

I have been *mostly* alcohol-free for over two years [mostly meaning my wedding night(s) and a couple drinks on vacations].

I’m not fully sober, but I don’t actively pursue alcohol at all.

There’s so much goodness in my life without it.

I feel so much more myself without it.

For example, I used to smoke a bowl every night before I went to bed for two years. And now while yes, I still like the w**d. I don't need it to sleep. I can fall asleep really easily.

Can you drink alcohol on your fitness journey? Of course you can.
but…
It f***s with your sleep, motivation, energy levels, water intake, and mental health.

So… is it worth it? You have to ask yourself that.

***check out my stories for alternatives***

What is your journey with alcohol?

As a former studio owner, group fitness instructor, and personal trainer of over ten years…

I LOVE when the gym is packed,
and it doesn’t matter the time of year.

I just LOVE seeing people find it in themselves to make their health a priority.

It’s quite literally my job to get you in there.
It’s my passion.
And it makes me giddy inside.

So to everyone that has been going to the gym before January 1st, you all had to start somewhere too. Be kind. Do not judge. And be patient.

And to everyone getting into your workout routine, I welcome you with open arms and will continue to post educational and inspirational content to make you feel strong and confident in and out of the gym.

Ready? 😎

It’s go time. 💪🏼

I’ve done the resolutions.

But ultimately, I just want to be doing this forever.

I want to be doing pull-ups at the beach gym in my 60s.

I want to wear tank tops at the grocery store and people stare at my guns in the cereal aisle.

I want to be on the “Top 10 granny’s to follow in 2063”

This is my goal.

What’s yours?
