📚 Things I Learned In 2024 📚

I could go on an on and write out an insanely long caption explaining each one of these, but I think they speak for themselves.

2024 was probably the most pivotal year of my life so far. I mean seriously the absolute highest of highs and lowest of lows. Through it all, these are the lessons that stuck out to me the most, and the things that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. I just wanted to take a moment and share them with all of you with the hopes that they touch some of you the same way they touched me 🦋

🗣️ INTENTIONS > RESOLUTIONS 🗣️

This post is just as much for me as it is you, I promise.

New Years is always the time that we all want to start to make changes in our lives and start a shift towards becoming our best selves; however, so so so many of us struggle to keep the momentum going longer than a week or two.

Have you ever asked yourself why that is?

Is it a lack of discipline?

Is it that we just stop caring after awhile?

Is it because we just want to be comfortable?

It could be all of those things, but I want to present a mindset shift to you all that I myself am taking into the new year.

Rather than just listing off a ton of things that just “sound good”, have you ever truly asked yourself WHY your resolutions are what they are?

Having a “why” behind your “what” is so powerful man. WHY do you want to read more? WHY do you want to get in better shape? WHY do you want to be more organized?

To start 2025, I want to challenge you all to truly reflect on your resolutions, and FIND YOUR “WHY” 🗣️

Change is uncomfortable - there’s no denying that. A lot of times, it’s easy for us to slip back into our old ways just because it’s familiar and we find comfort there (even when we know we’re uncomfortable being stagnant)

Personally, this year I’m choosing to be uncomfortable while growing rather than being uncomfortable and stagnant. The person that I want to be would always choose that, so why shouldn’t the person I currently am do the same?

Find your why, write it down, post a million sticky notes around the crib, tell your tribe, do whatever it is you need to do. Just find your why and go win.

STOP LOOKING FOR SHORT CUTS !!

If you’re looking for sustainable, effective, and healthy weight loss, then here’s a few things you should know:

1️⃣. Fad diets and cleanses aren’t gonna save you

2️⃣. Waist trainers are garbage

3️⃣. Caloric Deficit + Gym + Consistency = Results

4️⃣. Weight loss isn’t linear

5️⃣. If it was easy, everybody would do it

6️⃣. Protein is KING

While weight loss can be difficult, it doesn’t have to be complicated. Lift weights, eat high protein, eat less calories than you burn, and be consistent. This is the way 🖖🏾

Every single year I get asked about how to manage a diet during thanksgiving, and every single year I say the exact same thing..

Just don’t lol

Listen, 1 day of indulging in really good food is simply not going to “ruin your progress” or “throw you off”.

It’s Thanksgiving man. How on Earth could I look any of you in the eyes and say “yeah don’t eat that Mac & cheese and don’t touch that blueberry pie” hahahaha that’s nonsense !!!

Now I’m not saying to go absolutely crazy tomorrow and eat until you literally can’t move lol. Eat until you’re full and have fun !!

Enjoy yourself. Just know that once Thanksgiving is over, you’re gonna get back to your routine with your fitness and your nutrition. All those extra carbs from your meal tomorrow are gonna be fuel for you to go even harder in your next workout 💪🏾

We’re humans bro. Sharing a big meal with your loved ones and sharing the things you’re thankful for is all apart of the human experience. So… go experience it!

You’re not a failure. You’re not unmotivated. You’re not undisciplined. You’re just a human having a very fundamental human experience. Enjoy yourself tomorrow family 🦃 ❤️

🫂 The Power of Accountability 🫂

Finding a community that helps to hold you accountable while you go about tackling your fitness goals makes all the difference. Having people to keep you accountable is important because:

1️⃣. Accountability Keeps You Consistent 📈
You simply are so much more likely to show up to the gym and get your work done when you know that somebody else is counting on you to do so. Whether it be friends, a group class you frequent, or a personal trainer, having people that you share your goals with and work towards with is an excellent way to keep you consistent. And as we know, consistency is the backbone of progress in the gym 💪🏾

2️⃣. Accountability Keeps Morale High 🏆
The truth is that not every single day in the gym is gonna be all sunshine and rainbows. There’s gonna be days where you feel tired and weak. There’s gonna be days where you fail. There’s gonna be days where going to the gym is the absolute last thing on Earth that you want to do. But having people in your corner than can offer support, celebrate all your small wins with you, and remind you of why you started this in the first place helps you push past all of the doubt you may have and WIN 🥇
