Austin High Varsity Cheer

For our last senior shoutout we are celebrating Bess Van Slyke! Bess was a social officer from 2024-2025 and a captain for the 2025-2026 season! In the fall Bess is attending University of California at Berkeley, and will be a member of the cheer team! She is planning on majoring in marine science in the Department of Earth and Planetary Science. Her favorite memory from the team was hugging everyone at the senior tribute at UCA camp this past year! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to follow your journey in college!! Go bears 💛🐻💙

Our next senior shoutout is Emma Burrows!! Emma will be attending Sam Houston State University majoring in psychology and minoring in criminal justice. Her favorite memory was making the football team move our mats 3 different times for our competition. We are so excited for you .b.07 and can’t wait to see all you do!! Go Bearkats!!! 🧡🧡💙

Our next senior shoutout is Maki Ishida!! She will be attending Texas State university studying sports media. One of her favorite memories on the team was the win against Bowie football last year!! We are so proud of you .ishidaa we can’t wait to see all you do!! Go cats go!! 😸😸💛

We are celebrating each of our amazing seniors! Starting with one of our amazing seniors from the 2025-2026 season, Marissa Campos! In the fall Marissa will be attending Texas Tech University in the fall, and will be majoring in Communications. One of her favorite memories about being on the team was prepping pep rally routines and meeting so many of her closest friends through cheer. We our so proud of .n.tx and can’t wait to see what you accomplish in college, wreck ‘em!❤️🖤

Today Bess officially signed for the Berkeley Cheer Team!! We are so proud of our captain who has done so much for this team! We were so happy to share this special moment with !! We love you!! 💙💛💛

A huge thank you to our booster club and our wonderful coaches — Coach Morad, Coach Ball, and our competitive coach, Coach Laura. Thank you for making this season so special. 📣💥

Tuned in to watch and we scored a 91.6, placing 3rd virtually in our division—and based on scores, we would have placed 1st if we had competed in person (the in-person winner scored an 89.1)! We are beyond proud of this team and so thankful for every ounce of commitment and dedication that went into reaching our goal of placing top 3.

A huge thank you to our competitive coach; , for her time, dedication, and belief in us—helping build a routine we were confident in and taking us from regionals to a 3rd place finish at the Virtual National Championship. Thank you as well to Coach Morad for her constant support, the sacrifices she made for our team, and for being there at every football game and throughout competition season.
