Happy Monday team! This week feels like a new year or like a fresh start or something? Feels like after doing the same thing for three months its exciting for something new to be starting, even if it's class lol.

It's so crazy to think that I am starting my last year of undergrad at UT this week. I often harp about how I feel like college isn't needed to build a career and what a financial scam it is, but as I am entering my last year I feel so much gratitude for all my years in Austin thus far. I would have never been put into any of the spaces or communities I love being a part of without coming to college. My college experience given me the opportunity me tap into my passion for fitness and learn so many new ways to move from so many dope individuals.

My main intention for my senior year is to give my college peers the same opportunity, not just necessarily to workout but to share the avenue of personal growth that comes from it. Hoping you all feel inspired this week xoxo

Right now Instagram is saturated in the health and fitness space, a lot of it with misleading information. In the past few weeks iv'e seen multiple "deflating belly" or "de-blaoting" workout posts and that is just ... not it lol. Doing some stretches and exercises may help alleviate some stomach discomfort or cramps, but your bloating is NOT primarily stemming from your lack (or maybe excess amount) of exercise. ⁣

When it comes to bloating, its about what you are consuming in your eating and drinking habits. In order for your digestive system to work for you you have to work for her (or him, or them). This means paying attention to the amount of processed foods you are eating and intaking a good amount of fiber (20-40g) -- my favorite fiber sources as a vegetarian come from leafy greens and beans.⁣

In addition to what I eat, I also currently take a pro-biotic supplement to help further promote my gut health. The Healthy Healthy gut is my go to! I love the powder formula over a pill form and the berry flavor makes it easy to mix in with my green juice in the morning. I preach all the time to watch what you consume, because of how important is is for your physical performance, but also your mental performance. As a college student, I am definitely guilty of having pizza before a 5 hours of studying in the library, but over time I realized that food was not fueling my brain or my body -- Instead of studying I was more inclined to take a nap (if you know you know lol). ⁣

Most students think that creating healthier eating habits is super expensive, major misconception. You don't have to go to Whole Foods and buy the most expensive organic brands to start to make changes in your diet. Here are a few college budget friendly meals all under $5 and vegetarian friendly:⁣

All of your ab work does not have to be on your back (supine) or in a plank position. Switch up your core regimen by trying out new movements that actually strengthen the core through integrating more thank just the trunk muscles. Exercises like these help to develop core strength, which not only supports you in all of your other training but also your daily activities.⁣

Here are the exercises:⁣
1️⃣Tabletop Taps⁣
2️⃣Rotating Leg Drivers⁣
3️⃣Side Plank Leg Lifts⁣
4️⃣Bridge Arm Drivers⁣

I have been implementing a round or two of 30 seconds of each exercise as a part of my warmup to make sure my core is turned on but it also can be a great finisher. Happy Monday!🤩⁣
