Why this exercise study isn’t answering the question you think it is 01/19/2026

"Individual outcomes depend on individual context. Time availability, training history, injury risk, and current capacity all shape what is sustainable and effective. For most people, the answer is not choosing one intensity over another, but combining intensities with a clear purpose."

The best exercise is the one you enjoy enough to stick with, peppered with the occasional workout that challenges you mentally and physically.

Just do it ;)

Why this exercise study isn’t answering the question you think it is A viral wearable-data study suggests that 156 minutes of low-intensity movement can replace one minute of vigorous exercise. A closer look at the data tells a different story.

Want to protect your brain? Keep moving! I mix up my routine daily - some days it's fitness classes or the gym, other days a long walk. You might also catch me in my home gym between emails and meetings, lifting weights on my vibration plate under my JOOVV red light.
As many of you know, I've been full-time CFO at our company, MADCO Mechanical (TACLA 29654C), since 2016. As a health enthusiast, I've intentionally designed my workspace to support an active lifestyle throughout the workday.
How do you stay moving during your workday? I'd love to hear the creative ways you incorporate movement while working- especially from those who go into the office.

Menopause Is One Day. Postmenopause Is Decades. 01/07/2026

"Hormone therapy is preventive medicine when started early.
Hormone therapy is not about chasing youth.
It is about restoring balance in a body that has lost a critical regulatory system.

When started near menopause, hormone therapy is associated with:
better bone density
lower diabetes risk
improved mental health stability
reduced cardiovascular disease risk

There is no mandatory stop date. As long as the benefits outweigh the risks for an individual woman, continuing therapy is evidence supported.

Hormone therapy is not a magic bullet. But it is an important tool, and too many women were denied access based on outdated fear rather than modern data." Dr. Mary Claire Haver

Forget New Year's Resolutions and Conduct a 'Past Year Review' Instead (#559) - The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss 01/01/2026

I find this New Year's activity really fulfilling. To look back on the calendar alone is usually a lot of fun and pretty illuminating. What are you doing to acknowledge the new year?

Forget New Year's Resolutions and Conduct a 'Past Year Review' Instead (#559) - The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss I’m often asked about how I approach New Year’s resolutions. The truth is that I no longer approach them at all, even though I did for decades. Why the change? I have found “past year reviews” (PYR) more informed, valuable, and actionable than half-blindly looking forward with broad resoluti...

Good morning! What’s for breakfast?

I made cornbread with dinner last night, so—like the good Cajun that I am—I had coush-coush for breakfast. Of course, I made it the “healthy-ish” way.

This cornbread was made from scratch with top-notch ingredients, then turned into coush-coush with soy milk (I rotate my “milks”), a sprinkle of Redmond’s Real Salt, and a touch of xylitol. Si bon, cha!

What interesting things do you eat for breakfast sometimes? Is it tied to your culture or how you grew up—and do you ever modify it to make it a little healthier?

Using “atomic habits” to reach your health goals 12/29/2025

You’re going to hear more from me here in 2026 🙂

Let’s start with how to create habits that actually help you reach your goals, inspired by James Clear (author of Atomic Habits) and Peter Attia (physician and founder of Early Medical, a practice built on the principles of Medicine 3.0 with the goal of extending both lifespan and healthspan).

“Your health goals are probably easy to articulate, but your ‘system’—the collection of habits you regularly follow—is what will ultimately determine whether you reach them.” — James Clear

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” — James Clear

Please share two goals that you have for 2026.

I've switched up and added to my routine! I usually practice yoga, in a class setting, once a week. I've been inspired to come 5 days a week for the next month. My favorite time for movement is around 11am daily, but adding yoga to my routine, without taking away anything else, I'm required to come in the evening or early in the morning. Today is day 3 and I'm enjoying the ew scenery! How do you like yo switch things up or is this insirping you?
