I’ve been thinking a lot about what it all meant, why we did it, who we did it for, and why it had to end. Some answers are simple, but the feelings are complex. I did it for me, definitely, but I also did it for each of you. 11 years ago, on January 1st I started Cycleast. It took two months to find a space and open the doors. I dedicated every day for 11 years to this idea of being the best bike shop for people. We did it and I am very proud of that. Jacob, Blake, Hannah and I have spent the last month taking it all apart. I finally got sad. It didn’t last because I know I did the right thing for me, but damnit, I know I didn’t do the right thing for all of you and I can’t reconcile that. I can’t figure out why I couldn’t be happy in a place that meant so much to so many people. I love you all so much. Thank you for being on this journey with me, for letting me and this crew help build you amazing bikes, and cultivate this community. It was lit.

We’re finally releasing our final shirt. Sorry it took so long, but we wanted to make something that honored the past 11 years. All the time spent treating you all like family, creating community, and making bike dreams come true…it truly was lit!

Hell of a way to end 2023

Plenty of opportunities to ride, chat, and hang with us as we roll into our final month here at the shop. If you hadn’t heard, THIS WEEKEND IS OUR BIG FINAL SALE! And if you did know that, then huzzah!!! we hope to see you!

Although our ship closes on Sunday, we will continue to host some rides during the week as we transition out of the space.

The final day is Sunday, but there’s plenty of deals to be made before then. Russell is literally giving stuff away for free at this point, so gather your friends, empty out the Subaru, and bring some cash.

As the end of the year draws near, we still have two more opportunities to join us bike camping!

On November 25th, we’ll gather at the shop for a roll out to McKinney Falls State Park. Located only 10 miles (and 3 climbs) away, this presents a great opportunity to create a weekend adventure of your own. Camp spots are limited, but we’ll have a potluck situation going on, so feel free to also:
-join us for the ride
-drive out and hang

On December 16th we’re hosting our Cycleast Closing Campout party at ! Join us for our final annual bike camping trip to our favorite private campground (30 miles away). Camping spots are $40 and it’s only $5 to come party for the day

Since we announced the news that we are closing, we began discounting items and people have already gotten great deals. Now as the final day draws near, we’ve put everything on sale. Most things are marked down 20-40%, and all bikes are marked down drastically.

We stop checking bikes in for service Nov 22, and the 30th is our last day for walk in repairs.

December 2nd and 3rd is the FINAL SALE WEEKEND. That’s when things get really crazy. Mark your calendar and don’t miss it.

This Friday, we’re joining our friends for their documentary release! The event begins at 8pm, so we’ll roll shortly after the shop closes and take a friendly beginner roll (link in CE bio) over to !

As a reminder, they are raffling off a e-bike and tickets can be found and purchased at the link in the BHBR bio! Raffle tickets will also be for sale in person, and winners do not need to be present

We sent a lil crew out to Central Texas Showdown last month and had a great time! Ariel and Emily led out the Lowdown, while Russell held it down all weekend at the basecamp

November, the month of thanks, turkey, and the slow transition from pumpkin spice to peppermint mocha! …While we don’t actually have any turkey or seasonal flavorings, we’ve got lots to be thankful for this month. Here’s a few highlighted reasons:
