Happy Women’s History Month! Each Wednesday, we are featuring a prominent woman in Greek Life who has made a difference. This week we are honoring Carrie Chapman Catt (1859-1947), an activist who devoted her life to the expansion of women’s rights around the world. Catt was a member of Pi Beta Phi and worked to ratify the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. She attended Iowa State University, where she was one of the first initiates of Pi Phi and served as chapter secretary. Catt is an excellent example and reminder of how membership in Greek Life can be used as a way to network and advocate for important causes.

Happy International Women’s Day! Today we celebrate the contributions of all women to events in history and contemporary society. We’re back with another !!! Here’s why Holly Simpson loved her experience this year❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
“I truly don’t know where Katina and Kate have been my whole life - I absolutely love them! We became immediate friends during Rho Gam training, we had so many things in common and our personalities truly just clicked. I think we honestly might’ve laughed through all of recruitment! On day 1 of sisterhood round, we were stationed at a chapter and during the last round, it literally started POURING (like a legit tsunami)! Katina ran to CVS and bought the three of us ponchos and all the PNMs trash bags. As the girls came out of the house, Kate told them our plan and we literally put them in trash bags - it was absolutely hilarious. We were quite the sight, it was pure chaos! Then, we ran the girls through West Campus so they could get to the UTC to submit their preferences. It was so crazy and funny. Overall, I loved being a Rho Gam because I became best friends with the other Rho Gams in my group and I got to help girls find their homes in the Panhellenic community!”👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Exec Spotlight!!! Here’s Libby Lester, our President, and why she loves being on UPC Exec:
“Joining the Panhellenic Executive Board has been one of the best parts of my college experience. When I joined my chapter, I didn’t think that it could get any better - then I met the women on UPC. This second sisterhood immediately felt like home to me. The experiences, connections and leadership development that I have gained through my role as President are the most valuable from my college years and will continue to serve me well beyond my term. This job is so fulfilling and if you get a chance to apply for the board—do it. I’d join it 10x over again and again!”
