🦄 I met Elizabeth Gilbert once.
Well actually, I bumped right into her and said, “That’s Elizabeth Gilbert!” I said that, those exact words, right to her face. 🤦🏼♀️
She was gracious and wonderful and said a quick hello back.
That tiny interaction was a gift. ✨ A reminder that the people I look up to are just people. Like you and like me. Yes, is a creative genius. She's a fairy godmother, a mentor, a voice of reason, a lifter of spirits. (She knows Oprah!) And she's a person. 👋🏼
Bumping into Elizabeth Gilbert gave me something else. 🕯 A tiny nudge. Towards her deep wisdom, her way with words, her endless pursuit of beauty and truth and love. At that moment, I felt the tiniest zing that I have a bit of that inside me too. And so do you.
🎊 Here's my wish for you in 2022 —
May you find moments of connection. May you see more truth and beauty and love. May you bump into the occasional reminder that no matter what, we're all just people trying to find our way.

These sweet boys played so nicely while & I caught up over chocolate croissants at our favorite baby-friendly coffee shop. The journey of motherhood is filled with ups and downs, but it’s much sweeter when shared with friends.

Becoming a mama made me want to know more about what’s in the beauty products I use every day. Entering the world of safer skincare & beauty was intimidating. I felt a pull towards an all or nothing approach that made the whole thing feel impossible. Finding trustworthy brands like has made the transition easier. Their focus on progress, not perfection is not only relatable for my makeup bag, but also for my life as a mother. And I love the style of their simple packaging!! With Thanksgiving behind us, I’ve been thinking about the final weeks of 2017. How do I want to honor and appreciate the gifts, blessings, friends, challenges, triumphs, and sweetly simple moments from this year? How do I want to pave the way for 2018? What are my intentions and desires for the new year? It’s no surprise why this is one of my favorite seasons. Reflecting on the magic of this life and thinking about all the possibilities for the future are two things that bring me joy.

THREE YEARS!! I can’t think of a more perfect season to celebrate our marriage. In this time of gratitude and appreciation, love and family, I’m counting my lucky stars that our office romance turned into something real. ❤️

All day I’ve been trying to write a post about how much my heart aches for Las Vegas, but the words that stare back are useless. I called that sparkling hot city home for four years while I went to UNLV. Then nine years ago, my husband and I went there on a work trip... and fell in love. It’s been one of our favorite places to escape to ever since. It’s a place full of glitz, glam, make-believe — and now, sorrow. I’m not quite sure how to wrap my head around this senseless tragedy (or the number of other crazy sad & hard things happening around the world). I don’t think there’s a magical phrase to sum this up, there’s no quote that will put things into perspective. So tonight I’ll donate some money, hold my family close, and send light to the city that has shined so brightly in my life. 💔
