We are a full-contact, full-steel medieval fighting team, competing in the intense and thrilling international sport of buhurt. Based in Austin, TX, with our main practice location in Round Rock, we welcome men and women aged 18+ from all walks of life. Whether you're new to medieval combat or have experience in martial arts like judo, kickboxing, or MMA, we’re here to help you step into the arena and grow as a fighter. PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
Our primary practice is on Sundays from 12–2 PM, with optional, specialized practices held on other days. OTHER INFO:
First Practice: Your first practice is free to help you decide if buhurt is right for you. Afterward, the monthly practice fee is $60 (to cover facility and team expenses). Equipment Costs: You’ll start with a "soft kit" (padded clothing for practice) before collecting armor. Full armor costs $2,000+ depending on the source, but payment plans are often available. Our sponsorship with Iron Beetle Armory provides great benefits for our team. Traveling for Tournaments: Buhurt is a high-intensity sport, and traveling for tournaments throughout the year is part of the experience. Our fighters may be 18+, but our tournaments and events are family friendly! Women in Buhurt: Women are absolutely welcome to fight! While practices are mixed, women compete against other women in tournaments. What to Bring: Comfortable athletic clothes, water, and a readiness to learn. Loaner gear is available for beginners at practice. Community Involvement: We often collaborate with local events, fairs, and educational programs to share the sport and history of buhurt. Social Events: Team bonding is an important part of what we do, and we regularly organize social meetups, armor workshops, and watch parties for buhurt events.
