Tip of the week: mind your hours. Engine hours on a yacht are much like miles on a car. If the hours run up too high the value of the yacht can come crashing down. It's a very good idea to keep a close watch on your hours and conserve whenever possible. Plan your trips well and know when to sell. Timing is the key factor in preserving your yachts value!!

Tip of the week: Safety... Nothing beats time on the water with family and friends. Please make sure all your safety equipment is up to date and in good working order. Being prepared helps you protect loved ones and make the most out of your sea time. Things happen and being ready in advance allows you peace of mind.

Tip of the week: Never buy a yacht based on how it feels at the dock. You must take the yacht out in sea conditions that will prove the yacht's ability to handle less than pleasant seas. Every yacht is smooth when sitting in a protected marina. The key is to fully understand how the yacht will respond and react when the weather turns on you. Proper quality and construction is meant to keep you and your family safe underway. Please make sure you know what you are buying before you buy it. Never compromise safety/quality for price. Always buy with a trained professional team to support you. Yacht Brokers work. Use them.

Tip of the week: yachts that remain in the sun year round need to be waxed every three months. It can be expensive but nothing when compared to the cost of a new paint job. Waxing also acts as a perfect opportunity to closely inspect the finish on your yacht. Never be cheap on the water. Pay the money or give the time to take care of your toys!!!

Tip of the week: before buying your first yacht make sure to have your captain and service team already set up. Yachts require service. There is no way around that. Having a great support team will make your experience on the water amazing. It is a myth that the greatest two days of a yacht are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Those with regrets are the ones who never fully planned their yacht ownership. Plan ahead and enjoy your time at sea!!

Tip of the week... When buying a yacht of and size or price always use a surveyor to inspect the vessel and engine(s) before you purchase. It will be well worth the money!!!
