Today we started our project in Bakersfield! Armour is partnering with California Highway Patrol to protect Employees and Community!

Famous saying: what you don’t know, won’t hurt you… but have you heard…what you know, multiplies your CAL/OSHA citation by 5?!

That’s right!! IF you know it’s unsafe and don’t do anything about it, it’s willful. If you are aware of the standard and don’t fix it, it’s willful.

If it’s willful, your citation cost will be multiplied by 5! Taking a serious $25,000 fine to a willful serious $125,000 fine.

§ 336. Assessment of Civil Penalties.
(h) Willful Violation - If a Regulatory, General, or Serious violation is determined to be willful the Proposed Penalty is adjusted upward as follows:

Regulatory, General, and Serious - the Proposed Penalty is MULTIPLIED by FIVE.

(e) Willful Violation - is a violation where evidence shows that the employer committed an intentional and knowing, as contrasted with inadvertent, violation, and

the employer is conscious of the fact that what he/she is doing constitutes a violation of a safety law;

or, even though the employer was not consciously violating a safety law, he/she was aware that an unsafe or hazardous condition existed and made no reasonable effort to eliminate the condition.

Today we were honored with helping our customer’s employee survive a stroke. We were called and asked to check on a lone worker who was showing signs of sickness and confusion. On scene we assessed the employee and found signs of a stroke. We called 911 and tended to the employee while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The paramedics transported the employee to the hospital where it was confirmed that he in fact was suffering from a stroke. Thankfully the reaction time was quick enough that the employee was treated and was able to thank Jose Lozano for his help!

It's that time of year again! We must consider the hot weather and hot work operations. We ensure our client's personnel utilize their water buffalo to wet the ground before welding, use spark boards to reduce the risk of ignition, and have fire extinguishers out ready to go in case of a fire! Employers need to remember to provide water to employees, create shaded work areas, and ensure cooling stations are in full working order. Protect your workers and protect your job sites! Good morning! We started our day providing Electrical Safety & Arc Blast training for Key Electric! When we conduct safety meetings we always restock First Aid Kits, Calibrate Monitors, and inspect Fire Extinguishers. Happy Friday!
