Who needs a hug?

We all know those people who give the BEST HUGS! In fact, I pride myself on being one of them!⁣⁣⁣

This week I want to talk about what makes a hug JUST SO GREAT!

1️⃣ Hugging can lower blood pressure!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣ A 20-second hug releases stress-fighting oxytocin.⁣⁣⁣

3️⃣ Hugging releases emotionally positive brain chemicals.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
4️⃣ Hugging can lower your heart rate. (you're calmer and more relaxed when getting a hug!)⁣⁣⁣

5️⃣ We need 12 hugs a day for growth. (as many as possible for the greatest effect!)⁣⁣⁣

When two people hug, they release a hormone called oxytocin. Oxytocin is known as the bonding hormone and it makes us feel good! When oxytocin is released, it reduces stress, calms our nerves, and fosters happy hormones.😊⁣
