Many know that being adequately hydrated is important for day-to-day bodily functions such as regulating temperature, keeping joints lubricated, maintain skin health, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood. and maintaining skin health.

But did you know that drinking enough water is also associated with a significantly lower risk of developing chronic diseases and lowers risk of being biologically older than your chronological age, according to a National Institutes of Health study published in the journal eBioMedicine.

โ€œThe results suggest that proper hydration may slow down aging and prolong a disease-free life,โ€ said study author Natalia Dmitrieva, a researcher in the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, a division of NIH, in a news release.

New research has proven that strength training can provide more health benefits than just building muscles! It has shown to have a positive effect on a personโ€™s mood, metabolism, and longevity, especially for women.

During a recent study, researchers found โ€œpeople who did strength training 2 to 3 times a week had about a 20% reduced risk of premature death. And this is likely explained by a [variety] of positive health benefits that come from making our muscles stronger.โ€

What is even more surprising about this new research is that, โ€œwomen who do muscle-strengthening activities, had a reduction in their cardiovascular mortality by 30%.โ€
