Celebrating Earth Day this week inspired us to revive the Waste Not! series. Lots of everyday products are frequently out of stock these days, and paper towels top the list, so this is a great time to experiment with sustainable alternatives. There are so many out there, but Swedish dishcloths stand out in this category. Made of biodegradable cellulose, they feel like a hybrid of paper and fabric. They wash and dry quickly and can be used over and over for up to a year! If you're not in the position to make that purchase, don't worry - just cut up an old towel and start there. Either way, keep a breathable basket in your kitchen for the dirties, and wash them twice per week or so (assuming you can still get detergent).
