We had a couple of awesome middle schoolers wrap up their season today at the MS state meet! The conditions were awesome for running and it showed with these times.

Jase - 13:07 (~50 second personal best) - 73rd Overall - 25th 7th Grader!

Calvin - 13:28 (~45 second personal best) - 89th Overall - 59th 8th Grade!

After an awesome summer and season of training it was great to see two great performances to end the season. These guys are both very hard workers, the sky is the limit for both of them! Great work guys!

Full Conference Recap

All of our teams had incredible performances last night in their conference meet at Wartburg! For the 1st time in 5 years our HS girls fielded a team, so with that it is absolutely incredible that we finished in 3rd place! Not only that but we were 1 point away from beating the #17 team in class 1A. Every single girl ran a personal best and are peaking at the right time!

Elsie - 3rd - 19:51.3 (56 second personal best, she also broke the Baxter Girl's Conference Record!)
Brylea - 13th - 22:21.4 (42 second PR!)
Gwen - 15th - 22:26.6 (48 second PR)
Piper - 27th - 24:16.0 (19 second PR!)
Avery - 29th - 24:38.4 (86 second PR!)
Tuva - 41st - 26:04.9 (2 minute and 4 second PR!)

The boys team also had an incredible night filled with many personal bests. The boys team won their 3rd straight conference title in dominant fashion scoring only 25 points as a team! The boys also showed off their depth with 4 medalists and 9 athletes under 18:40. We also calculated that if our JV would have ran as their own team they would have finished 3rd overall in the varsity race!

Our middle school boys also did an awesome job competing. This was the first time in Baxter history that we have had enough MS boys to get a team score. They ended in 4th place and were only 6 places from 3rd! Unfortunately we had no true personal bests as the course was only about 1.7 miles but it has been easy to see how much every athlete has improved throughout the season!

Last night the Baxter Boys won their 3rd straight conference title in dominant fashion placing 3 in the top 4 and all 5 scorers in the first 13 places! The boys were led by Max Handorf in 1st, Brecken Fisher in 2nd, Maddux Tuhn in 4th, and Lincoln Handorf in 10th!

The girls team had their highest place in at least 5 years finishing in 3rd place! Unofficially all of our girls ran personal bests. They were led by Elsie Hauser who finished in 3rd and ran Bolt Conference Record and is now only 20 seconds short of the school record!

Once I get official results I will share a full summary of the meet!

After the most recent ratings update the Baxter Boys Cross Country team is now rated #3 in class 1A! This is the highest rating in Bolts history and comes after a very strong meet on Tuesday.

The girls will get the opportunity to compete against two ranked teams tomorrow at Conference and can give themselves a chance to be rated next week!

The Bolts are peaking at the perfect time and are running great. Good job Bolts!

D**e New Hartford Results

The Baxter Bolt Cross Country teams ran a great meet on Tuesday at Wartburg hosted by D**e-New Hartford. It was a beautiful night and MANY athletes ran personal bests!

The Baxter Girls XC team finished in 12th out of 27 teams! The girls were led by Elsie Hauser who finished in 10th and medalled!

The Baxter Varsity Boys finished in 3rd place! Finishing only behind 3A #16 Benton Community and 2A #5 Denver. They were lead by Max Handorf who finished in 1st, Brecken Fisher in 5th, and Maddux Tuhn in 11th all of whom medalled!

School Record Alert!!!

On Tuesday, Max Handorf broke his OWN school record AGAIN. Running a 20 second personal best in Waverly. Going under 16 minutes for the first time and running the 2nd fastest time in 1A this season!

South Hardin Meet Recap!

The MS/HS Baxter Cross Country teams got the opportunity to compete today at Pine Lake Golf Course host by South Hardin. After a September of so much rain we were uncertain if this meet would go on as scheduled but thankfully they still held it. The course was in great condition and the weather this morning was absolutely beautiful!

The Baxter HS Girls had their best meet of the season. The course is not known for being a "fast" course despite that the girls ran some very solid times and finished 2nd! Only losing to 2A #3 West Marshall. It was exciting to run against the smaller competition and earn some medals! Elsie, Gwen, and Brylea were all medalists!

The HS Boys had a unique race this morning. We took down a partial roster to give some of our younger guys the opportunity to run in a new position and also give some of our guys the opportunity to get their first ever medal. Despite that the Boys finished 3rd overall despite not racing with 4 of our top 5 runners! This just goes to show that we have incredible depth and a lot of the younger guys stepped up today! The boys were led by medalists Lincoln Handorf on Varsity, and Kinnick and Levi in the JV race!

The MS boys ran a tough race this morning against several small schools and Cedar Falls! The MS boys finished 2nd overall only losing to Cedar Falls who is class 4A. While we didn't have any 2 mile personal record all of our boys ran times very similar to what they did last week at ACGC despite this course being significantly tougher.

Williamsburg Meet Recap!!!

The Baxter Bolts had a great meet yesterday competing at Williamsburg competing against many very talented large schools. We have several PR's and awesome performances as we head into the second half the season. Running against the bigger competition has been good to help push us to our best and run some fast times. Thankfully we will spend the final few weeks of the season competing against some smaller teams as we head into our conference and state qualifying meets!

The girls competed hard against the larger schools, with 3 girls running personal bests! I can’t wait to see what they do the next several weeks against the more similar-sized competition!

The Baxter JV Boys ran in their first JV exclusive race of the season. They finished in 9th place out 21 teams and were the only 1A team in the field. It was awesome to get these guys the opportunity to run in their own race and see what they can do as a team. They were led by Parker Bonney who ran a personal best and medalled in the race!

The middle schools boys competed hard against a huge field including 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A teams. They finished in 15th out of 22 teams. This was the 2nd time this season the boys have ran a 1.5 mile course and all 5 runners ran faster than the previous time! Great work guys!
