Flamenco Fun Facts 1: Did you know… that “flamenco” is the name of an art form?

Not to be confused with the flamingo bird species, flamenco is an energetic art form combining singing, music, and dance; it originated in the south of Spain and grew out of the areas of Andalusia and Murcia. It was a synthesis born of the mingling of Andalusian, Islamic, Sephardic, and Gypsy cultures that existed in the region. Although flamenco is primarily Spanish, several of its musical forms have been influenced by Latin American and Cuban elements!
