Happy National EMS Week!
During National EMS Week, May 17th - 23rd, we extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated firefighters, EMT’s, EMR’s, paramedics, law enforcement officers, all of our families who support us everyday.
To all of our colleagues who answer the call every day with courage, compassion, and professionalism; thank you!
Some days we are responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving care, protecting our communities, or standing beside people during their hardest moments, but each of these moments make us stronger, as people and providers.
Thank you for your unwavering service to our communities! 🚨

National Police Memorial Day is observed every May 15th to honor the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our safety and security. Words cannot begin to describe the loss that is felt by their absence. We want to thank each and every law enforcement member and the families of those who have lost a loved one to this difficult job.
Today we especially remember our member Jesse Branch, who was killed in an on duty crash while working for the Red Lake Police Department. Recently, Jesse’s name was added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. and was honored at this year’s National Police Week events. While his time with us was short, his impact was great.

Each year, during the week of May 6th-12th, we celebrate national nurses week! At NCFR, we are so grateful for the dedication and team work of the nurses who help our communities stay safe and healthy.
Nurses week was established to recognize the vital role nurses play in healthcare, and ends May 12th, which is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who was widely recognized as the founder of modern-day nursing.
Thank you to our nurses here at NCFR, and to all the other nurses out there, for the sacrifices you make, the lives you touch, and the difference you make!

Safety starts with being seen, and thanks to the generosity of incredible community partners and donors, our team just got a MAJOR upgrade: high visibility jackets for the whole crew!
Enbridge : Fueling our Futures Grant
United Way of Bemidji Area : Community Response Funds
Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union
Knife River Corporation
Security Bank USA : Casual Day Funds
Minnesota Energy Resources : Safety Grant
Because of your support, our responders are now better equipped to stay safe and be seen while serving our community, especially in high-risk and low-visibility situations. This investment directly impacts our safety, confidence, and effectiveness on every call.
From all of us at North Country First Responders—thank you for standing with us and helping keep our crews safe.

We would like to thank Lee, from Beltrami Electric Cooperative, for taking the time to teach our first responders about electrical and power line safety at our last meeting!
His knowledge and real-world experience provided our team with valuable information that will help keep our responders and community safe. Understanding the hazards associated with electrical incidents is important, and this training strengthened our ability to recognize risks and respond appropriately.
We appreciate your dedication to our community. Thank you again for investing time into our team!
