The COCC Rugby team has their first match of the Fall 15s season on October 11th at 1pm at COCC vs Western Oregon University. It'd be great to get some fans out supporting the boys.

The first-ever COCC Rugby Alumni Match kicks off May 10 at 1:00pm at COCC. Current Bobcats vs. the Legends who built this program.

Max Bennett – Head Coach
The steady hand guiding the COCC Rugby program, its vision, and its future.

A fourth-generation Central Oregonian and Summit High School grad, Max’s connection to rugby and the region runs deep. His uncle, Woody Bennett, started the COCC Rugby Club, and Max served as its first-ever Captain in 2012–13, setting a standard of toughness, unity, and relentless work ethic that still defines the team today.

A former Lock, Max relates to the unsung heroes of the game—the players who do the gritty, unglamorous work that wins matches—and takes pride in developing them.

Now, as Head Coach, Max leads the program with a clear mission: to develop young men into leaders, to create a lasting rugby culture in Central Oregon, and to build a team that is bigger than any one season or player.

“I coach to build something bigger than myself. Rugby gave me strength, confidence, and purpose—and it’s my job to create that opportunity for every player who joins this team.”

Next up: Connor Huet
Another product of , Connor brings 3 years of high school rugby experience and serious local pride to the pitch. He’ll also be studying Mechanical Engineering at COCC this fall—and while he may share a face with his brother, he’s got his own fire to bring to the program.

Another Central Oregon standout joins the crew — welcome Tristan Huet! Tristan brings 3 years of high school rugby experience from and a strong foundation built right here in Bend. He’ll be studying Mechanical Engineering at COCC this fall—and he’s ready to bring grit, discipline, and energy to the squad.
