I never really figured hitting out while I was playing.
And that’s hard to admit.
I had success.
I played professionally for 10 years.
I had stretches where I felt unstoppable.
And I had stretches where I felt completely lost.
The problem was, I didn’t have a system.
I didn’t understand why I was good when I was good…
or why it disappeared when I struggled.
And looking back, one of my biggest mistakes was thinking I knew more than I did.
I didn’t always listen enough.
Coaching changed that.
Now I listen. I study. I pay attention to what great hitters actually do, say, and think.
And after thousands of lessons, the same patterns keep showing up:
Mindset.
Focus.
Approach.
Swing.
Contact.
Result.
I didn’t invent the principles.
I built the system around them.
And honestly, a lot of what I teach now is what I wish somebody had taught me when I was still playing.
