⚠️ graphic content ⚠️ but go ahead and swipe 😬👀
laid my bike down yesterday on a steep downhill with some really chunky loose gravel. we were about 11 miles into a 40 mile ride. I felt like I made the best corrections I could in the moment to mitigate the fall but the ozarks aint flat and the rocks are sharp
got up and had no idea this gash was on my arm (it’s on the backside so I didn’t see ir when I looked down), I was just concerned that I got my brand new Rapha Bentonville long sleeve all dirty and was worried about getting my chain back on my bike
I walked it over to meet Jordan McGrath (McDaniel) (a flight nurse) and her face was all DO YOU NOT FEEL THAT?!, she made sure I was okay and I was able to convince her we could finish our ride before getting it stitched up 🙃
back home, they irrigated it for a full 10-15 min, gave me a tetanus shot and closed it with 5 Frankenstein-looking stitches. I’m a bit sore today but we are all good and I’m thankful this was the worst of it
Jord and I have logged nearly 800 challenging gravel miles in the last 5 months. that’s a lot of riding, a lot of miles, and a lot fun along the way. this is just another story in our adventures ♥️✨
