It's been way too long since we've gotten our paintball fix. We're heading to Alabama Paintball Quest on Sunday, Jan 12, for some old-school 10-man practice. Fellow 10-man enthusiasts, join us to prep for the Tiki's 10-man Championship Cup!

You're local 10man favorites are headed to Central Alabama Paintball Park on March 17th to prepare for the season opener at the Farm! Come help us get some good points in for the day so we can bring home the gold!

The Hormesis 1V1 experience!

The joust

The tour rolled into town and the Savages came to play. What seemed like it was going to be a typical Alabama paintball tournament complete with our standard rain, turned out to be a perfect day for a joust. The joust format for the Alabama stop of the Hormesis tour, turned out to be the largest joust yet. The joust format is very fun and unique. 2 teams, The Magnificent & The Glorious battled it out in 2 90 minute sessions with The Magnificent taking the win. 88 players of all levels of skill in the game fought hard.

The duel

The duel plays completely different. In the duel and random draw decides who plays who in a 20min game time, race to 10 format. Our very own Daniel Contorno fought hard. Taking the lead early against another Southern local William Newbery. Seemingly he was going to take the win early Daniel seemed to light a spark in the Mr. Newberry and the tide began to change the tide. With a hard fight ahead of both of them, Mr. Newberry managed to pull out the win.

Our props go out to Hormesis Paintball for coming up with such an exciting format to play. And a special thanks to Prime Paintball for hosting the event at what is the premiere paintball field in the southeast. We would like to also say a huge thank you to Christina for delivering all the food.

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨

The New Orleans Hurricanes saw great success this past season by meeting the majority of our first professional season goals. We attribute that success to several factors – mostly our culture of commitment, focus, teamwork, trust, and our strategic and tactical approach to the game. But it is the players who exemplify this culture that are the treasure. Regrettably, the Canes lost two players this past season due to more important commitments outside of our program: Matt Hamilton and Aaron Smith. Both of these snake side attack players were key components to the Canes success over the past few years and their departure was a serious blow to our depth chart.

Finding a player(s) that can “plug and play” into a culture like ours is difficult to say the least. Not only would they have to hurdle our strict cultural requirements, but they would have to meet our exacting expectations of skill set on top of that.

As fate would have it, a player who met all our expectations showed up at our try-outs.

The Canes would like to welcome the newest member to our 2023 Professional roster by way of Germany, Nic Rippel! Some of you may already know Nic from his aggressive attack style with Breakout Spa in the European NXL or perhaps most recently where he showed his versatility with the Lucky 15’s this past World Cup. Please join the Canes in giving him a hearty southern welcome as he dons the Hurricane Blue!
