Birmingham teacher competes for national award to fund ‘Magic City Science Bus’ A Birmingham chemistry teacher is competing in a national contest that could bring Bill Nye the Science Guy to her school and fund a mobile classroom to reach students struggling with chronic absenteeism.

Oh, the track team? They totally crushed it! 🌟 Everyone was super hyped, and the energy was just contagious. From the sprinters to the long-distance runners, they all pushed their limits. It was like watching a scene from a movie . They've been training so hard, and it really showed. The teamwork was off the charts, too. Ayden "Speedy" Moody? Oh man, he was like lightning on the track! 🌩️ Zooming past the finish line with a mind-blowing 10.96 in the 100 dash – that's seriously impressive. It's not just fast; it's like superhero fast. The team was going wild you could just feel the excitement in the air.

Big shoutout to Tristian Carter, Charles Banks, Ja’marcus Taylor and Kaius Stewart (not pictured) for making the AB honor roll! That's no small feat and it's super impressive to see your hard work and dedication paying off in such a big way. It takes a lot of discipline, focus, and perseverance to achieve such high academic standards. You guys are really setting the bar high, and your success is totally worth celebrating. P.D. Jackson-Olin's athletes showed up with fierce determination at Thursday's track meet. Their attentive training was evident as they sprinted, and hurdled with impressive skill!

- Boys 4x400 meter relay finished 3rd overall giving the Mustangs 6pts

- Freshman Tyric Miller PR in 1600m gaining us 4pts in 3200m

- Sophomore Frederick Reese Finished 2nd overall 300m with an outstanding PR of 43.02 giving the mustangs 8pts

- Freshman Charles Banks finished staunchly with a PR of 54.32 in 400m also with PR 24.32 in 200m anchoring the 4x1 and 4x4 finishing his Birthday week off right!

- Junior Aydden Moody AKA “speedy Moody” finished 7th in the 200m gaining the mustangs 2pts!

- Boys 4x100 B team meter relay finished 6 overall giving the Mustangs 3pts
