Wasn’t planning on tackling another restoration right now, but... Here’s my new 1997 Dark Emerald Pearl 40th Anniversary Land Cruiser, that is somewhat disguised as a regular 97 LC 😂. The exterior is in really good shape, but the interior needs some attention (leather, carpet, missing trim, etc) and is in need of a small Dobinsons suspension upgrade and 315s. I plan on working on it this winter and spring while my Antique Sage Pearl 40th Anniverary I’ve been working on the past 6-months is getting repainted.
NEED: If anyone has a lead on a set of no rust factory locking axles, wiring (4 pieces), controller, and switch in the Southeast US, please PM me.
I’ve already got a list of 30 items to work on, some big and some small, so let the fun begin!

97 40th Anniversary Axle Swap and Dobinsons Suspension Upgrades Part 4:

Fully Rebuilt Factory Locking Front Axle installed and Dobinspn Flexi Coils with IMS Shocks all done for the front. Also added new Powerstop brakes pads and rotors, Slee caster plates, Slee Sway Bar Drop Brackets, Extended Stainless Steel Brake Lines, and all new Diff Breathers front and rear. Glad this part of the rebuild is done.

Next up: Bleed Brakes, Diff Fluid, Wire Lockers, etc.

97 40th Anniversary Axle Swap and Dobinsons Suspension Upgrades Part 3:

Front Axle and Suspension all removed. The rear Radius Arm bolts were harder to loosen than I remembered. Had to get creative with a breaker bar, extension, and floor jack on 1 of the 4! Next time I’m loosening those while the tires are still on the ground! Having the axle loose and truck on jack stands trying to loosen them was bad sequencing on my part!

Next up: Front Axle Swap, Brakes, and Suspension.

97 40th Anniversary Axle Swap and Dobinsons Suspension Upgrades Part 2:

Finished up the brakes on the now fully rebuilt factory locked rear axle, installed the Dobinsons 3” FlexiCoils and IMS Shocks, and got everything wrapped up (Slee sway bar drop, Delta rear panhard lift, Slee bump stop drop, extended brake lines, etc).

Next up: Front Axle, Brakes, and Suspension.

Got all the parts unboxed and organized, current non-locked rear axle unbolted, OEM rear suspension removed, and factory locked axle ready for install between work stuff today.

Hope to make more progress later this week.

Finished a quick Rear Axle Rebuild on the 1997 40th Anniversary 3x Locked Land Cruiser Restoration today with parts from . Clearly I’m taking too long on the restoration as my 5-yr old son keeps asking “why do you keep taking things apart when it worked fine before?” 😂
