Active Minds was founded by Alison Malmon when she was a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, following the suicide of her older brother, Brian. Brian, also a college student, had been experiencing depression and psychosis for three years but had concealed his symptoms from everyone around him. In the middle of his senior year, he returned to the family’s Potomac, Maryland home and began rece

Active Minds at UAB was founded by Ashley Taylor (A.T.) Since then we have hosted the Active Minds national exhibition Send Silence Packing twice (2012, 2014) and we are proud to say that our 2014 President, Samantha Greenhalgh, will be joining the Send Silence Packing Road Team! We have been successfully making a positive impact on UAB's campus through QPR training sessions, Stress Less weeks, etc...
