If you registered a team for this year's ABS -Youth Challenge, be sure to check your email for a Welcome and Reminders email from alabamabirdsearch @ gmail.com. There is some very important info in there, including a reminder to also register for the Awards on Oct. 17th if you plan to bring your team and any others (siblings, etc). The deadline is tomorrow, esp if you want to order extra t-shirts! I also sent out a few emails to verify some teams that appeared to have only one kid registered or have slightly different team names. Bird searchers!! We are almost ready to open registration for the 2026 Alabama Bird Search - Youth Challenge! Get ready for the challenge and see some really amazing birds in the Black Belt of Alabama this month with Alabama Audubon ... Scissor-tailed flycatchers, Wood Storks, Swallow-tailed Kites, Anhingas! And with the early stages of Fall migration kicking into gear, you never know what might turn up. Be on the lookout for an email if you're on our list and announcements here for the competition.

July events are lined up and ready to go! There's just one month left to get your tickets for the Black Belt Birding Festival, where you'll experience unique birds, rich history, and unforgettable adventures. Registration closes July 26.
