Wildcat of the Week goes to: Nathan Dawley

Nathan has been an absolute warrior since the beginning of the season. He has dealt with a litany of injuries already this season, but still shows up every day ready to battle through it. As a coaching staff, we have been beyond impressed with his grit and determination that he has shown each practice and game day. Nathan is a senior leader for this team and does a great job to try to set the standard for what we want the Blanchester boys' soccer team to be. He has a great technical/tactical understanding of the game and a lot of skill to allow him to make plays that not every player is going to be able to make. Even though it may not be his position of preference, he has served primarily as an outside back for us this season and has really played well. He provides us with good defensive ability and confidence that we have a player back there that can really help to shut down the opponents offensive attack. We are incredibly proud of his efforts each day. Keep up the great work Nathan! ⚽️⚽️

Wildcat of the Week goes to: Evan Porter.

Evan finished the week with 2 goals and 1 assist. She has 5 goals and 2 assists on the year already and helps connect our defense and offense so well. She’s a true competitor and strives to improve and help her team any way she can. She is a great young leader and is fierce in our attack. Keep it up, Evan! We’re so proud of you! ⚽️⚽️

The Blanchester Boys Soccer team traveled to Williamsburg Tuesday night and unfortunately fell short. We want to give a HUGE shoutout to the boys for scoring against Williamsburg last night. This goes to show how far you guys are coming as a team! Logan Lakes scored a goal 🥅 that was assisted by Caleb Mobley. They play again on Thursday at Bethel Tate at 7 pm!
Come out, pack the stands & cheer them on. ⚽️

Blanchester Girls Soccer traveled to Williamsburg Tuesday night and won by a score of 4-1. We went down 1-0 after about 15 minutes into the game but tied it up off an Emily Adkins penalty kick. We then took the lead when Rylee Griffith scored off of a corner kick. 2-1 at half.

In the second half, the wildcats scored again when Laylla Sears found Emily Adkins for a goal off the left post into the back of the net. Finally, Rylee Griffith assisted Zandalynn Jones when she crossed the ball in front of the goal to go up 4-1.

Ava Lanham had 6 saves in goal to help secure the win with the Blanchester defense. 🔥

Coach Hamilton said: We played well and I’m really proud of the team for coming back after going down a goal. Williamsburg is always a tough team. Beating them gets us closer to our goal of a league title.

We play 1st place Bethel Tate on Thursday at BT. Come out, pack the stands & cheer them on. ⚽️

The Blanchester girls’ soccer team traveled to Finneytown high school on Saturday and won by a score of 6–0. The lady cats opened up the scoring within the first 20 seconds when Evan Porter found Emily Adkins who kicked it past the keeper to go up 1-0. From there, Emily Adkins scored another goal and provided an assist to senior Laylla Sears to go up 3–0 at halftime. In the second half, Evan Porter scored off of a Rylee Griffith run and bounce off the Finneytown keeper and Laylla Sears and Zandalynn Jones both assisted Emily Adkins for two more goals to seal the game.

Ava Lanham had 8 saves in goal and earned the shutout along with the Blanchester defense. 🔥

This was another solid performance by the team. Coach Hamilton said: I thought the defense and Ava Lanham played a good game to earn the shut out after allowing 4 goals in our last game against CNE Tuesday night. This was a great way to bounce back and to defeat another d5 SW sectional team is always a good feeling. Emily Adkins and the offense are finding a good rhythm at a crucial time in the season. Emily Adkins has earned a hat trick in each of the last 3 games including a bonus 4 goal game yesterday.

We are 4-1-2 on the season and face off with league opponent, Williamsburg Tuesday night at their stadium at 7 pm. ⚽️⚽️

‼️ Special announcement!! ‼️

Each year for our annual kick for the cure game, we choose a family that we raise money for who has been impacted by cancer with ties to the Blanchester community. Our annual kick for the cure game will be September 29 at 6 PM at Home versus Lynchburg for the girls only. The family we are donating proceeds to is Alan and Allie Reeder. Alan played soccer at Blanchester high school and graduated in 2009. He and his wife Allie recently found out that their 5 month old son, Preston was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. They have spent many nights already at Children’s Hospital and the doctors are creating a treatment plan for him. The cost for this treatment is unfathomable so any money we can raise to help this family with ties to Blanchester is much appreciated. Please attend the match on September 29 and purchase your T-shirts from 4Reasons. All of the profits go to this family along with raffles and baskets that we will be auctioning off at the game as well. We appreciate all of you and hope to have a big turn out! ⚽️⚽️

Wildcat of the week goes to: Ethan Weatherford

Ethan, also affectionately known as "Earl" has been chosen as our Wildcat of the Week! He has a fantastic attitude and really works hard every single day. The coaching staff has been truly impressed by his relentless effort, willingness to play whatever role he is asked to play on any given day, and the improvement that he has made each week. He has become one of the top finishers of every running/fitness drill that we complete at practice, has filled in multiple positions for us on gameday, and has really started to showcase some good attacking runs when given the opportunity. We are looking forward to Ethan's continued improvement throughout this season and we are excited about his potential for the next couple of seasons. Keep up the great work "Earl"! ⚽️
