I am a seven-year triathlon coach (and near-20-year triathlete) based in South Florida. I've trained athletes locally and internationally (virtually) out of minor injuries and towards personal bests including half- and full-ironman races, Boston qualification and first-time triathletes. This page is dedicated to all things fitness, triathlon, training, health, wellness and of course, incorporating family into the mix.

Marathon training will test your discipline, but don’t forget to enjoy the ride along the way.

Two weeks out from the Marine Corps Marathon, today’s schedule called for 14 miles. Mid-route, I ran right into the Every B**b Counts 5K. Rather than running past the energy, I jumped in, pushed the pace, and took 2nd place in my age group.

The highlight wasn’t the podium—it was catching up with longtime friend and event powerhouse Stacey Garbowit, supporting an incredible cause, and reminding myself why we do this. Knocked out the remaining miles to hit the full 14-mile target.

Fitness is banked. Marine Corps Marathon is locked and loaded. Enjoy the process.

What happens when you simply trust the process? Your body finds another gear. 🧱⚡

Yesterday: 10 miles on the road + a 1-hour CrossFit session.
Today: Stepping up to race a 10k as part of the 10 miles on heavily pre-fatigued legs.

The goal wasn’t perfection—it was practicing race-day grit under cumulative fatigue. But instead of just surviving, the engine showed up: I clocked the fastest 10K I’ve run in a very long time. When you put the honest work in week after week, the adaptation takes care of itself.

3 weeks out from the Marine Corps Marathon. Only one more long run remains before taper time.

Today carried extra meaning out on the asphalt, too. My race entry was generously donated by a great friend who is currently sidelined with an injury. While he couldn’t run, his wife laced up, and his son crushed his very first race! Nothing beats running for a cause bigger than yourself and sharing the course with the next generation.

Don’t negotiate with fatigue. Build the engine to outlast it.

Train Smarter. Race Stronger. Live Fuller.

Peaking out the build for the Marine Corps Marathon with an intentional double day. 🏃‍♂️⚡🏋️‍♂️

Today’s training split:
1️⃣ 10-mile road run banked this morning (in the rain)
2️⃣ 1-hour high-intensity CrossFit partner workout

The kicker? Alarm goes off early tomorrow morning for another 10 miles—holding the same or faster pace as today on pre-fatigued legs.

Why stack the work like this?
In the final 10K of 26.2 miles, your aerobic engine isn’t the only thing under attack—your structural durability and mental discipline are being tested. Stacking volume like this safely conditions your mind and nervous system to execute when your legs want to shut down.

Don’t just survive your miles. Build an engine that holds the line for every mile.

Train Smarter. Race Stronger. Live Fuller.

26.2 miles is never just about pace charts or splits. It’s about who you choose to be when the pavement pushes back.

Yesterday, Seth shared something before toeing the line at the that captured the exact heart of endurance: he was running today for three people:
1. His younger self, who dreamed of moments like this,
2. His current self, putting in the work and answering the test, and
3. His future self, who one day won’t have the legs or the lungs to do it.

Marathons rarely go entirely according to plan. You face friction, fatigue, and the mental battle that starts when the crowd noise fades and the real work begins. Pushing through those barriers is where the actual transformation happens.

As a coach, I will never promise an athlete PR after PR. The sport doesn’t work like that, and life doesn’t either.
What I can promise is this:
- You will learn what you are truly made of.
- You will have fun embracing the hard stuff.
- And I will be in your corner, supporting and challenging you every single mile.

Huge congratulations, Seth, on leaving it all on the streets of Berlin today. Honored to walk—and run—this journey with you!

Drop some love for Seth in the comments! 🇩🇪👇

My Snatches are still ugly AF. 🏋️‍♂️

Myth: If your lift isn’t picture-perfect, you aren’t making progress.

The reality? High-level technique isn’t forged in flawless sets—it’s built directly inside the awkward, frustrating, ugly reps where you check your ego at the door.

Real progress means:
1️⃣ Leaning on a coach’s eyes instead of guessing your own mechanics.
2️⃣ Asking the uncomfortable questions and actively seeking guidance.
3️⃣ Being relentlessly patient with the timeline and doing the unglamorous work.

Nobody masters the sn**ch overnight. If you want sustainable breakthroughs, stop hiding the mess and embrace the process.

The Grand Canyon doesn’t just challenge your legs—it completely resets your perspective. 🏜️✨

Taking on South Kaibab and Bright Angel delivered 5 absolute “WOW” moments that left us speechless:

1️⃣ The Views, Sunrises & Sunsets: Photos never do it justice. Watching morning light set the canyon walls ablaze is an image burned in memory forever.
2️⃣ The Sheer Drops: Navigating trail edges where you are literally inches away from a sheer drop-off demands 100% presence on every step.
3️⃣ The River’s Force: Hitting the canyon bottom and seeing the raw, relentless power of the Colorado River cutting through solid rock. At sunrise, no less.
4️⃣ The Rescue Helicopters: Watching choppers echo through the canyon walls—a stark, humbling reminder of the stakes out here. They average 3-4 rescues a day.
5️⃣ The Mules: Crossing paths with the legendary pack mule trains—calm, confident, and perfectly sure-footed on unforgiving terrain.

Think you can just run the Grand Canyon if you have the engine? Think again. 🏜️👟

Hiking down South Kaibab and climbing out on Bright Angel completely wrecked three major assumptions we had going in:

1️⃣ The Technicality: We expected runnable paths. The reality? Relentless wood-plank water bars, uneven drop-offs, and boulders meant way more tactical power-hiking and technical footwork than actual running.

2️⃣ Down vs. Up Pacing: We assumed climbing back out would be at least 50% slower than going down. But the descent forces heavy quad braking to protect the joints, making our descent and ascent paces almost identical.

3️⃣ The Rest Stops: We planned on powering through, but the dry canyon air, vertical gain, and heat forced way more deliberate fueling, breathing, and water breaks than our spreadsheet anticipated.

The canyon always dictates the terms—check your ego and adapt your plan.

14-mile long run test in the books with the new green Gymshark running half tights. 🟢🏃‍♂️

Finding the right gear for long-distance training usually comes with compromise, but these delivered across the board:
• 7 Pockets Total: 3 on each side (2 small for nutrition, 1 large drop-in that locks down a phone bounce-free) plus a secure zippered pocket across the back for keys, cash, and ID.
• Fit & Feel: Extremely soft fabric with balanced compression—supportive without pinching, giving a true second-skin feel.
• Inner Liner Support: Keeps everything locked down and in place without shifting or riding up (fixing the #1 issue I’ve had with almost every compression short I’ve owned).
Not a paid endorsement—just honest feedback from the road. These are officially locked in for my Marine Corps Marathon build. (Though , feel free to send more colors my way! 😉)

Dialing in your gear is just one part of executing on race day. Stop guessing your prep and connect with me as a coach to train smarter, race stronger, and live fuller.

You are never too old, too experienced, or too advanced to be coached. 🛑🧠

In this session, I missed my power clean PR attempt. Instead of letting ego take over, getting frustrated, or trying to muscle through with bad mechanics, I took a step back and listened.

My coach gave me immediate feedback on my pull and timing. I reset, adjusted the ex*****on, and hit the PR.

True growth belongs to anyone who knows they can be stronger, faster, and better—no matter where they are in their athletic journey. Drop the ego, trust another set of eyes, and stay coachable.
