How Organized Are you? š
Today we are shining the light on Gallupās theme of .
The fact that I missed āGet Organized Dayā on April 26 shows my levels of organization š
However, this Superstar 𤩠has Organizer in her top 3!
We usually showcase the Challenge that has been set for our Superstar, however, today we wanted to focus on how our program supports parents too š
We deliver feedback sessions to parents/guardians to help them understand their childās Strengths. During the feedback session with this Superstarās parent there was a real š” moment!
Kiddos with high Organizer like a plan. A plan for the day, week, month and/or Season perhaps! They love knowing the details and enjoy making lists. If they understand the details of the plan, or even better, if are involved in making the plan, they can ābe in the momentā and not wondering about what is going to happen next.
Theš” moment came when the Mom of this Superstar 𤩠realized that her daughter frequently asking āwhat are we doing nextā did not mean that she wasnāt grateful for what they were currently doing. In fact, her daughter wanted to understand the āplanā so she could enjoy the moment even more! The example that we discussed during the feedback session was a recent trip to Disney.

Today we are celebrating one of the influencing Strengths from Gallup 's .
š„š„š„
Kids with high Competing look to improve their own performance through comparison and measurement of progress. Competing is not always about being number 1 (although it can be!), but rather about winning the competition that the child sets themselves. This could mean competing against others that do not know that they are competing, or it could be self-competitiveness. Examples could be to increase their grade, beat a personal best, get picked for a sports team etc.
ā”ļø Competing is not usually about winning over others.
ā”ļøIt is about taking a personal pride from winning.
ā”ļøWinning or not, provokes a deep emotion in these children as they use a lot of energy to win.
ā”ļøIf your child or a child that you care about, has high Competing, help them to celebrate their success or comfort them if they donāt win ātheirā competition.
š¤©This Superstar had recently taken up Softball when we started working with her. She really wanted to build her confidence and competence quickly! Her āchallengeā was focused on setting a goal and breaking it down into smaller manageable chunks. The key to success for this āChallengeā was having our Superstar record and monitor her progress against the measurements that she had set!
Awesome job!

Do you remember what it is like being 10-14 years old?
It is such a transitional time in a childās life. They are changing physically, mentally, emotionally and hormonally as well as leaving their comfort zone of their Elementary/Primary School to head for Middle/Senior School. School and academic expectations change too. Children are expected to,
ā”ļøGet to and from classes on their own.
ā”ļøManage their time wisely.
ā”ļøOrganize and keep up with materials for multiple classes.
ā”ļøBe responsible for all classwork and homework from multiple teachers.
ā”ļøAt the same time as developing and maintaining social relationships!
This can be an exciting time of change but also stressful!
