Due to the amount of interest we’ve had in the team, we need to get an exact head count of who is committed to playing in the fall and who is still on the fence. There are girls waiting in line for an open spot if available. Please message the team page directly to confirm. Comments will be disabled in order to keep everything organized & in one place. We just need a yes or no either way, if we don’t hear from you then we will proceed to fill that spot on the roster. In an effort to help players raise money for their $200 commitment fee Tiffany has created a fundraiser calendar on canva. You can edit the calendar on canva using your players name & picture as well as adding your own preferred payment methods. If you prefer not to use the canva calendar I have created an alternative down in the comments, either is fine. All money raised including anything above & beyond the $200 commitment fee goes directly to any costs & fees associated with the teams season. Thank you all!

My name is Zach Rosenbaum and I will be the head coach of the Carolina Wrens. My daughter is Summer. She plays Outfield and 1st base and I have coached her since the beginning. We are all very excited for what this season will bring.

As a few of the other parents already know, I love to coach and love to joke around. I want this to be a FUN, stress and drama free team. From what I know and what I have heard, your daughter and you all as parents are all fantastic people and fit the mold perfectly for what we are trying to build for the future, and I look forward to working with them to reach their full potential.

A little about my past:
Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Huntersville, North Carolina, I learned early that the game demanded discipline, patience, and resilience. Every afternoon after school, I could be found throwing baseballs against fences, pitching to
imaginary hitters, or dreaming about one day stepping onto a professional field.

At North Mecklenburg High School, baseball became more than a hobby, it became my purpose. I spent countless hours refining my mechanics, building arm strength, and learning how to compete under pressure. I wasn’t the biggest name in the country, but I earned respect for my work ethic and determination. Every outing on the mound taught me something new about confidence, leadership, and handling adversity. My Junior and Senior years of high school I earned All State, All Conference, All Charlotte Observer, and selected to pitch in the North Carolina State Games where I earned a Gold Medal. My Junior and Senior year I was selected as team MVP and the Conference Tournament MVP.

I was heavily recruited by numerous D1 universities but after much thought and prayer and having to make one of the most difficult decisions I had ever had to make as a young man, I decided that being close to home for my family to come and see me pitch was more important than anything. So my baseball career took me to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Playing college baseball was a major step forward in my life. The competition was
tougher, the expectations were higher, and the game moved faster than anything I had experienced before. I quickly learned that talent alone would never be enough. Success depended on preparation, mental toughness, and the willingness to outwork everyone around you. But not just on the field, but in the classroom, and the weight room at 6:00am.

During my time at UNC Charlotte, I developed as both a pitcher and a competitor. There were moments when things clicked perfectly, games where every pitch landed exactly where I wanted it and confidence seemed effortless. There were also difficult days filled with frustration, injuries, and lessons about
perseverance. College baseball tested me in ways I had never imagined, but it also strengthened me. While at UNC-Charlotte in 2007 we were 49-12 and had the best Team ERA in the country and I was 9-1 as a sophomore.

That season started getting me looks from numerous MLB teams and everything felt like it was going as it was meant to be. After the 2008 season, one of the greatest moments of my life arrived when I was selected by the New York Mets in the 19th round of the MLB Draft. Hearing my name connected to a Major League organization was the realization of a childhood dream. Years of hard work, sacrifice, and support from family, coaches, and teammates had finally paid off.

Signing with the Mets organization introduced me to the realities of professional baseball. The minor leagues were both exciting and humbling. Every player there had been a star somewhere before arriving, and competition was relentless. Long bus rides, early workouts, and endless games became part of everyday life. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was baseball, and I loved every second of it.

Pitching professionally challenged me mentally as much as physically. I learned how important routine was, how quickly momentum could shift, and how critical it was to stay focused after setbacks. Some outings were memorable successes. Others reminded me how unforgiving the game could be. Baseball has a way of testing your character every day.

Although my professional career did not lead all the way to the Major Leagues, I remain proud of the path I traveled. Very few people ever have the opportunity to play professional baseball, and I never took that privilege for granted. The game taught me discipline, resilience, accountability, and humility.

Looking back, the greatest part of baseball was never only the statistics or achievements. It was the relationships built along the way, teammates who became lifelong friends, coaches who pushed me to improve, and family members who supported me through every challenge. Baseball gave me unforgettable experiences and shaped the person I became.

The game also taught me how to handle failure. In baseball, even the best players fail regularly. Learning to recover from bad performances, stay mentally strong, and continue working toward improvement became lessons that extended far beyond the field.

Today, when I think about my baseball journey, I feel gratitude more than anything else. Gratitude for every inning pitched, every teammate, every coach, and every opportunity to compete. Baseball gave me memories that will last forever and lessons that continue to guide me long after my playing days ended.

No matter where life takes me, a part of me will always belong to this game.
