No hornet races tonight but I get to watch legends, mini stocks, mods, Pepsi sprints and bandos from this great vantage point!

Oh my gosh! First night out with the new car. What a FUN FUN FUN night! The main didn’t turn out as I had hoped but this new little car has so much promise and we’ll get her fixed up this week and see what happens next weekend!

Qualified 8th out of 15 and then took second in my heat - because I got too excited and WAY overdrove it coming to the checkered flag. Yes yes yes. I know!!! I overdrive everything I drive. I’m working on it.

During the main I started feeling it cutting out so I babied it through and when I brought it in, we found oil in two of the spark plugs so I immediately ordered everything to fix the gaskets and replace plugs and wires. “Should” be a relatively easy job. Ended up not running in the Paul Revere night race because of this.

Had a little fun last night!

Maybe the biggest goal of the day….

Sooooo…. Before we even got the oil pan off the Ford, we had taken a little trip to Kuna…… to pick up the next gen of Hansen Racing….. Got some minor work to put into it before we go to practice Thursday night but hopefully we’ll have it all ready to race Saturday. We had planned to go to Magic Valley on Friday but as you can imagine - plans had to take a slight detour.

Yeah. So. Note to self. NO FORDS! Thought we might have gotten lucky and had just blown an oil gasket. But - as we pulled the oil pan out, we heard a telling noise that told us - HA HA 🤣- you just thought you mighta gotten lucky. Nope. Engine blew. That big ole hole you can see in the pics - yeah, that’s not supposed to be there. Sooooo…… see next post…..

Go until it sounds expensive they said. Yeah. It sounds expensive now. Gave the track a good oil bath and the engine may have gone BOOM. Crap. We’ll have to tear into her tomorrow and see what we can find. Feel like crap for the other two cars that found my oil path and went for a ride. I know “it’s racing” and “things happen” but I still feel bad.
