New op-ed up from Laura Everett: One âBOS Nationâ Under Scrutiny: Why NWSL Boston Needs to Change Their Name Now
"The NWSL Boston team name needed to go before the presidential election, and it definitely needs to go after. The longer the ownership group waits, the worse the situation gets, squandering any goodwill from its expectant local fan base."

âI think we need a bigger stadium,â Everett told GBH Morning Edition co-host Paris Alston. âItâs a great sign of how much enthusiasm there is for womenâs sports across the region.â Laura Everett of Boston Women's Sports said to Paris Allston of GBH News âThis is also, unfortunately, a consequence of artificial market suppression,â she said. âThere are so many women who have been playing so long, but really havenât received all of the investment and support. ⌠Leagues, investors, the infrastructure just hasnât been there.â

The PWHLâs success is a policy victory of Title IX, writes Joyce Linehan in Commonwealth Magazine.
âWednesday night in Lowell, PWHLâs Boston and Minneapolis teams will play the deciding game for the inaugural league championship. The game, at the 6,500-person capacity Tsongas Arena, is sold out. There are a handful of tickets on the resale sites, and they cost thousands of dollars.
The excitement about this is a testament to the power of legislation and policy to change lives.â
PWHL Boston finals bid a triumph of law and policy

New Story Up!
"...Apparently though, no one told two of the top goalkeepers in the league, and two US Womenâs National Hockey team goalies that this would be a defensive battle. And it wasnât. Boston won 4-3, managing not to go into overtime for the first time in four games.
This is not the game anyone expected.
Perhaps except Coach Courtney Kessel.
âOur plan was not to change our game plan,â Coach Kessel said after the game..."

Recap/ preview by Laura Everett as we head to Lowell for Game One of : What is PWHL Boston playing for?
After the game, âs Coach Kessel responded, âYou read those articles, and ( Coach) Kori is telling us that weâre lucky. Sheâs using that as motivation for her team, that we celebrated too hard in the third overtime goal. You know theyâre coming in for blood.â
What are we playing for?
If another coach gifts you such fuel for your fire, that your team is celebrating too hard after winning? That youâre just âlucky?â You take her quote, blow it up to 300 pt font, and tape it to each and every locker of your players. You are playing to prove them wrong. You are playing to make them eat each and every one of their words.
You are playing for even more ice time into the finals."
