Last night I was with some folks coming out of a house and I saw the almost full moon. I let out a howl. This group is a group of singers and one said very jokingly, “now again in tune.”
I smiled and wondered -how does one howl in tune?
But it reminded me of loving to sing as a kiddo and then getting a distinct message that one should never sing out of tune. So I stopped singing publicly, or if I did- I did with a lot of shame.
It took me quite a while to decondition that one.
So, here I am - singing to the leaves, the drum, the glory and beauty of this earth and the preciousness of life and the gratitude I have for my body, breath, my in tune from the depths of my core.
And when you see the moon tonight, if you’re feeling it, get out there and let it rip.
I’ll be out there with you.
“If you asked me what came into this world to do, I will tell you I came to love out loud.”
