Final from Fenway 🏟

Blue Jays 6, Red Sox 1.

Another frustrating night at Fenway as the Red Sox fall to 29-41 on the season and drop to 12-23 at home. Boston went just 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base. Jarren Duran provided the lone bright spot with a 445-foot homer to dead center.

More tough numbers:
πŸ”Ή 0-30 when trailing by 3+ runs
πŸ”Ή 6-17 against AL East opponents
πŸ”Ή 12-23 at Fenway Park

The Red Sox will look to bounce back tomorrow and avoid dropping another series at home.

πŸ’₯ Finally, some offense! πŸ’₯

Jarren Duran puts the Red Sox on the board with a no-doubt blast over the center field wall! πŸš€βšΎ

πŸ“Š Exit Velocity: 109 MPH
πŸ“ Distance: 445 FT

That ball was absolutely crushed. πŸ”₯

Payton Tolle's night ends after 5 innings:

πŸ”Ή 5.0 IP
πŸ”Ή 4 H
πŸ”Ή 3 ER
πŸ”Ή 2 BB
πŸ”Ή 6 K

Tolle was cruising until the 5th when he got ambushed on a changeup and a cutter for a pair of homers. With one of the best fastballs in baseball, Toronto was ready when he went away from it. Still, he generated 10 whiffs on 45 swings and looked strong for most of the night.

A 14-pitch battle with Myles Straw helped push his pitch count to 90 and likely cost him a chance to work the 6th. Plenty of positives to take away from this start. πŸ‘βšΎ

🚨Romy Gonzalez is already making noise!

In his first rehab game with the Portland Sea Dogs, Romy launched a home run in his second at-bat β€” and did it against a right-handed pitcher. πŸ’£βšΎ

Safe to say he hasn't missed a beat. The Red Sox could be getting one of their most versatile bats back sooner rather than later, and that's welcome news for a team looking for a spark. πŸ”₯

Welcome back, Romy! πŸ‘

πŸ’Ž Smooth defensive combination!

Marcelo Mayer shows off some impressive range on this play, getting to a ball that many shortstops don't reach. Then Isiah Kiner-Falefa does the rest with a smooth pick and force out at second. πŸ‘βšΎ

We haven't gotten to see Mayer flash the glove like this too often yet, but the athleticism is obvious. Pair that with IKF's steady defense, and the Red Sox have a slick combo working up the middle. πŸ”₯

🚨 Garrett Crochet Injury Update 🚨

There's finally some progress in Garrett Crochet's recovery. The Red Sox ace has started throwing plyo (weighted) balls as part of his rehab from shoulder inflammation and a low-grade lat strain. While he hasn't begun throwing a baseball yet, this is an encouraging step in the right direction. πŸ’ͺ⚾

According to manager Chad Tracy, Crochet will be re-evaluated later this week to determine the next phase of his recovery.

Crochet has been sidelined since late April and recently said he doesn't expect to return before the All-Star Break. The road back is still a gradual one, but seeing him throw again is definitely positive news for Boston.

Let's hope the Red Sox ace continues making steady progress and gets back on the mound healthy soon! πŸ™πŸ”΄βšͺ

🚨 Positive Update on Roman Anthony! 🚨

Roman Anthony received a follow-up MRI on his injured ring finger, and the results were encouraging. According to Chad Tracy, everything is healing properly, and the MRI showed continued progress in the recovery of the torn ligament. πŸ™Œ

Anthony has not resumed swinging yet, but this is a major step in the right direction. The Red Sox will continue to monitor his recovery daily and progress him based on both medical evaluations and how he's feeling.

There's still no timetable for his return, but this is the positive news Red Sox fans have been waiting for. πŸ’ͺ⚾

We can't wait to see Roman back on the field doing what he does best. Get well soon, Roman! ❀️

🚨 Great news, Red Sox Nation! 🚨

Romy Gonzalez is officially on the road back, joining the Portland Sea Dogs tonight to begin his rehab assignment. πŸ’ͺ⚾

His versatility, power, and spark could provide a big boost for Boston as the season rolls on. Looking forward to seeing Romy back at Fenway and making an impact soon! πŸ”₯
