At 42 years old, I walked into a cardiologist’s office and was the youngest person there.

I looked around and saw people much older than me. Some were using canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Meanwhile, I was terrified, wondering what was wrong with my heart.

I wore a heart monitor.
I had an echocardiogram.
I spent countless hours worrying and imagining the worst.

My heart would race out of nowhere. I had palpitations, anxiety, dizziness, and symptoms that made me feel like something was seriously wrong.

But after all the testing, my heart was healthy.

What was really happening?

Perimenopause.

No one had prepared me for the fact that changing hormones could create symptoms that felt so frightening and so physical.

I share this because I know there are other women sitting in doctors’ offices right now, scared and confused, wondering what’s happening to their bodies.

Always get symptoms checked out by your healthcare provider, but if your tests come back normal, know that hormones may be part of the conversation too.

You are not alone. There is hope, there are answers, and there are women walking this path right alongside you.

For the longest time, I thought I had to figure out perimenopause on my own.

The truth? I spent 4 months in what felt like absolute hell. The anxiety, exhaustion, mood swings, brain fog, disrupted sleep, and feeling like I didn’t recognize my own body left me feeling frustrated, confused, and alone.

What I needed most wasn’t another person telling me it was “just part of getting older.” I needed support, answers, and hope.

That’s exactly why I am so passionate about helping women today.

If you’re struggling through perimenopause, please know you do not have to suffer in silence or navigate it alone. There are ways to support your body, nourish your hormones, improve your energy, and start feeling like yourself again.

🎉 I am proud to announce that I am now a Hormone Health Advocate with Hugh and Grace!

And trust me this one is personal.

3 years ago, I was drowning and didn’t know why.

Brain fog so thick I couldn’t finish a sentence. Heart palpitations that had me convinced something was seriously wrong. Anxiety out of nowhere. Exhaustion that sleep didn’t fix. I didn’t feel like myself and I hadn’t for a long time.

So I did what you’re supposed to do. I went to the doctors.

Neurologist. ✔️
Cardiologist. ✔️
Endocrinologist. ✔️
You name it, I was there.

Test after test. Referral after referral. And over and over again, the same answer: “Everything looks normal.”

Normal?! Nothing about how I was feeling was normal.

It wasn’t until I finally found someone who looked at the FULL picture that I got my answer: perimenopause.

That’s it. That was the culprit behind years of symptoms, specialist appointments, and feeling completely dismissed by the system.

I was floored. And honestly? A little furious. Because how many women are out there right now, going through exactly what I went through, being told they’re fine when they’re anything but?

That experience changed everything for me. It’s exactly WHY I joined Hugh and Grace.

5 Things I’m Doing to Lose Fat Before Thanksgiving (and Keep It Off!) 🦃🔥

Every year, I used to roll into the holidays with good intentions… but by Thanksgiving week, I’d be tired, bloated, and promising myself I’d “start fresh in January.” 😅

Not this year.

I’ve worked way too hard to feel my best — to balance my hormones, to rebuild my metabolism, to finally have energy that lasts all day. I’m not letting the holidays derail that. 🙌

Here’s what I’m doing right now to stay on track ⤵️

1️⃣ Dialing in my macros.
I’m not cutting carbs or starving myself — I’m fueling my body right. Hitting my protein, enjoying healthy fats, and still making room for the occasional pumpkin treat. 🎃

2️⃣ Carb cycling.
This is my secret weapon for keeping my hormones happy and my metabolism flexible. Low carb days keep me in fat-burning mode; higher carb days keep my energy and strength up.

3️⃣ Intermittent fasting.
I love how it helps me feel in control around food. I’m not snacking mindlessly anymore — I eat when I’m truly hungry and fuel my workouts with purpose. 💪

4️⃣ Lifting weights instead of overdoing cardio.
I used to think more cardio = more fat loss. Nope. Building muscle has changed everything for me — more definition, more confidence, and a stronger metabolism.

5️⃣ Protecting my stress + sleep.
Because let’s be honest — the holidays can be a lot. I’m saying no more often, getting my 7–8 hours, and not letting stress undo all my hard work.

This isn’t about perfection or restriction — it’s about maintaining the routines that make me feel my best while still enjoying the season. ❤️
