Demolition Derby Rules Saturday November 7th
Races start at 6:30 $15 for grandstand entrance

General Safety & Conduct
• Driver Requirements: Drivers must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and sign a liability waiver.
• Mandatory Safety Gear: Drivers must wear a DOT-approved helmet, eye protection, a seatbelt, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a fire-retardant jacket
• Driver's Door Policy: Hitting the driver's door is strictly illegal and results in immediate disqualification.
• Activity Requirement: Drivers must stay active and make an aggressive hit into another car every 1-2 minutes); passive driving or "sandbagging" leads to a warning or disqualification.
• Zero Tolerance: No alcohol or drugs are permitted in the pit. Two active fires on a vehicle will trigger a disqualification.
• Drivers must stay within the assigned race area or be disqualified.

Vehicle Eligibility & Preparation
• Prohibited Vehicles: Trucks, SUVs, full-size vans, limousines, ambulances, hearses, and specific classic models (such as 1964–1966 or pre-1973 Chrysler Imperials) are banned .
• Bone Stock vehicles only. No racing equipment allowed.
• No locked rearends.
• Stripping Glass & Hazards: All side glass, windshields, head/tail lights, plastic trim, upholstery, and loose interior items must be completely removed.
• Fuel: The gas tank must be removed from stock positions and safely relocated inside the protected passenger compartment (secured and covered), or swapped to a small marine/boat fuel cell (typically max 5–6 gallons).
• Securing Hoods & Doors: Doors, trunks, and hoods are chained, wired, or welded shut in designated spots to prevent them from flying open.
• Bracing of any kind will be cause for disqualification (except drivers door may have 2 bars welded inside for safety).
• Tires must be stock DOT tires with no additives inside the tire.
• Car numbers must be large and contrasting for officials to see.

Raceceiver Radios are recommended. It’ll be to your benefit to have one. Please inform officials you have one at registration.
$500 for 1st $250 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd

WHOSE READY FOR A DEMOLITION DERBY?. We're considering having one at our Nov 7th race if there is enough interest. I can't remember the last time anyone had one around here. It would be a blast.

💔🌧️ WELL, Boyd Raceway fans and drivers and my wonderful SPOON SQUAD… THIS ONE HURTS. 😢

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has once again decided that Boyd Raceway needed a Mud Spa instead of a racetrack. 😭

The cold front came rolling through North Texas, bringing storms along with it. While some areas barely received a sprinkle, others got absolutely HAMMERED with rainfall comparable to what we experienced when the remnants of the hurricane came through!

And unfortunately, Boyd Raceway took a beating. 💔

The surfaces are nothing but MUD, and has been completely trenched out .. leaving the staff with no choice but to call off Saturday's FIRST ANNUAL Texas Four Cylinder Shoouout and Trunk or Treat festivities.

It's absolutely heartbreaking. So much time, effort, planning, and excitement goes into putting on these events. From the track staff and drivers to the families and fans who were looking forward to a great night of racing… this one STINGS.

But here's the thing, y'all…

The dirt isn't going anywhere. Neither are we. 🏁❤️

We're always looking for ways to improve things to make our fans experience better. Recently we took that huge hump down about 3 feet where our handicap parking is located to make it easier for them to park and get there wheel chairs up to the cement. We added a couple of loads of road base in hopes that it won't wash out every time it rains and those that need it can actually use it now. Got ideas for improvements? We're listening.
