Happy National Coaches day to all my fellow coaches out there! After being an athlete in the sport for 18 years, the transition to become a coach was the best decision I’ve ever made no doubt. Being a young coach at 25-years-old, you’re constantly learning and constantly growing. Very blessed with the players I’ve come across in the last 4-5 years of coaching and the coaches I’ve had the pleasure of working with as well. I just love this beautiful game of football. I’m not crazy, it’s an obsession because I’m just passionate. Love making an impact on young players lives both on and off the pitch. Most satisfying feeling ever and that’s an understatement. Grateful for this chapter of my journey and glad coaching has become my career pathway! Excited for the future and what’s to come 💪⚽️❤️

First club game of the season yesterday in the ECNL-RL against Next Generation for my 04/05 boys. Been working very hard the past 5-6 weeks and won 2-0 to start the season. We’ve been working on pressing and knowing when to step into gaps and read the game to the go to goal at speed and it paid off yesterday for both our goals. Pressing doesn’t just mean in the opponents defensive third, it can be anywhere when you are able to read the game and step in numbers. Still tons of work to go and a lot of kinks to work out. Proud of my boys though and their hard work so far! Go rage ❤️💪⚽️

That’s a wrap for another fantastic summer of coaching with school starting tomorrow. Between 4 camps and training 8-10 players each week, I definitely kept busy to say the least. Had the pleasure to work with many talented youth players and overall good kids at heart. In addition, got to be with and coach around some top level coaches! Let club season officially begin now with my boys first game the 28th. If you are interested in personal training with me throughout the year, please reach out to me and we can work something out. Signing off on summer 2022 ✌️❤️ ⚽️

⌚️🔋 Another great session this week with Nathan Green. This guy has improved dramatically in two months with me this summer. His work ethic/desire to learn and get better has taken him to the next level finally. Helped him learn a new position at right back as well as improve him at centerback already. I’m proud of him this summer!

This drill was to simulate him going forward connecting passes (one twos) and able to change directions on a dime. Focused heavy on technical here especially on concrete when the ball is rolling faster. Great job 👏

🪜 Had my guy Leonel Marines come out for a nice SAQ session this week. His footwork has improved dramatically over the years and he is looking just to keep in shape till high school season. Proud of this young man💪👏

💪👏 Had a fun morning session with Brooke and Madison today. Worked them very hard with some match fitness drills and then slowed it down with a smaller space drill here. It’s simple in a 10 yard rectangle box. The goal is for the player to stay inside the box dribbling forward avoiding the cones being laid down by me quicker and quicker. They can’t dribble past me and must stay in front. It’s a great drill to work on a players technical ability and help them react faster on the ball to change directions while keeping control of the ball. Great stuff ladies ⚽️

👏Wish I had more pictures but I just got home last night from the 5 day, 4 night overnight camp over in Vero Beach. It’s run by The Florida Soccer School which are founded by Rui Fernandes and Fred Dikranian. Two amazing people who have great backgrounds in the world of soccer/football. Started working summers for them last year and love it. They bring in a staff of world class coaches every camp including former professional players, professional coaches both club and international, current and former college coaches, high level club directors and coaches and more. I feel very grateful to be apart of it as a young coach in the game and making these unreal connections in the process. Had a great time this week and absolutely exhausted! Well worth it and look forward to next year 🔥💪 The Florida Soccer School

🥵 🔥 Here’s another drill at the wall with Nathan to finish the day last week. This drill really emphasizes checking in and checking out. Can a player keep a consistent quality touch as they continue to make new movements and make passes in different directions. The drill is 3 passes total with going forward, then left, then right and the last one is a pass from me to the player to then turn and find the goal. It can help a player stay proactive and able to keep their hips “on a swivel” which is an important trait for any footballer. Well done Nathan👏

🟥🟩🟦🟪 Here is Nathan Green doing a wall session as well. The drill is simple. Start in the middle of four cones and I will call out a color as I pass the ball. If it’s the front or one behind, he must dribble around the cone and pass it back. If it’s either of the ones on the left or right side, he will dribble to it, make a pass off the wall and take a touch out to then play and reset with me.

🔛 You have to stay proactive here and not reactive. Ball rolls fast on the concrete as said before and need to stay on our toes. Know the weight of your first touch and pass here.

🆘 Sorry for being inactive recently, been super busy that I’ve forgot to coach. Will post a few sessions from the week before. This week I’ve been in Vero beach coaching an elite overnight camp since last Sunday for Florida Soccer School. Awesome people and awesome coaching staff.

📶 Here is Sophia from a few weeks ago over at the wall here in Lakewood Ranch doing a technical session. The idea of this drill is to dribble through the cones and then make a one-two pass on the wall right before the last cone to do a quick move and find the goal 🥅.

💯 The ball will roll faster on the concrete so got to keep that ball tight and the pass precise. Well done Sophia!👏

🥅 🥅 Back out in 98 degree weather with Matthew Iacobelli. This is the last drill we did and is meant for attackers I won’t lie. However, like anything in life, it’s all about perspective.

⚽️ Since Matthew is a centerback, I made this drill from his point of view. I acted as the goalkeeper and playing Matthew short from our side of the field. He needs to turn out and take a good first touch out effectively and aim for the right and left small Pugg goals inside the large goal. Those two small goals represent his two center mids and I wanted him to really drive or get the ball to them with pace In a sense. Do both left and right side! Stay consistent, because one bad pass from a center back and the other team is stealing it to go to goal right away. 👀

💯 Yesterday trained brooke on her own. This drill I’ve used before and wanted her to try it. It’s to work on getting that perfect first touch out and playing a pass. Each time you make a new pass, check out and back in so it’s more realistic. There are 3 “gates or lanes” and those are for the 3 different touches. Start close in and gets further out. Do both right and left foot.

Brooke is a good player who just needs to be confident In her ability! When she’s on, she’s on. She is a dangerous striker and proud of her growth recently and hope she continues to build that confidence!🙌
