My Gals 50+: Don’t Forget to Train What You Can’t See!
Your back is home to some of the largest and most important muscles in your upper body. Training them isn’t just about appearance—it’s about building strength that carries over into everyday life.
A bent-over barbell row trains major pulling muscles including the lats, rhomboids, traps and rear shoulders, while your spinal erectors and core work to stabilize your torso.
Why I đź’™ rows:
* Builds upper- and mid-back strength
* Strengthens the muscles that help control the shoulder blades
* Trains a fundamental pulling pattern
* Requires your core and posterior chain to stabilize your body
* Helps balance all the pressing movements we tend to do
Form matters: Hinge at the hips, keep your spine neutral, brace your core, pull the bar toward your lower ribs/upper abdomen, squeeze through the back, and lower with control.
Strong backs support strong bodies—and we need both for the long game. 💙💪
