Remembering my humble, yet larger than life grandfather affectionally known by friends, family, and those he worked with as, ‘Duke’. Among his several successful careers, he was a lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department on the fire boat, Fred A Busse, built in 1936.
He was widely known to be first through a door during an emergency and always looked out for his guys while serving his community.
I really hope he knows how much I tried to learn from him.
