Beautiful day for a trip to the beach!! We're open today and tomorrow until 7:00p and kayak rentals are available all day too, so come and enjoy a sun filled afternoon with us at the Town Beach (Phillips Beach) at Tonetta Lake!!

The Town Beach (Phillips Beach) @ Tonetta Lake is finally open today!! The beach is open now until 7:00p, so come join us for some fun in the sun plus FREE KAYAK RENTALS from 12:00p to 5:00p!!

The Town Beach (Phillips Beach) @ Tonetta Lake is now closed for the remainder of the day due to low air and water temperatures.
The Kayak Rental @ Tonetta Lake is now closed for the remainder of the day due to high winds making for unsafe conditions.
The Blackberry Park District Pool is now closed for the remainder of the day due to low air and water temperatures.
This certainly hasn't been the start to the season we hoped for, but should be good for a full opening tomorrow and hope to see everyone out with us!! UPDATE: Due to the continued high winds, we're closing the kayak rental area for the day but will be reopening it tomorrow, Sunday the 31st at 12:00noon (beach opens at 11:00am). Thanks for understanding!!

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO TODAY?? Come kayak with us on Tonetta Lake!!
Well, another unseasonably cool day is upon us and while the Town Beach (Phillips Beach) @ Tonetta Lake is open, it's gonna be too cold to swim and we likely will not allowing people to do so. But fear not, our new Kayak Rental Area is going to be open for a dry-run and you're invited to come out and rent a kayak for FREE. Just come to the beach gate and we'll fill you in on the rest. We'll be renting kayaks from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, so feel free to come take one out (we have singles and tandems) or bring your own!

The Town Beach (Phillips Beach) @ Tonetta Lake will be closed today due to low water temperatures unsafe for swimming or wading.
The Blackberry Park District Pool will be closed today due to low water temperatures unsafe for swimming or wading.
MORE INFORMATION ON THESE DECISIONS: The water temperature of both bodies of water currently sits at 60 degrees. Air temperature today will not hit 70 degrees until 4:00pm, meaning that water temps will likely remain below 70 degrees for the entire day, possibly touching 70 in the very late afternoon. The National Center for Cold Water Safety lists water temps below 77 degrees as those adversely affecting breathing and recommends only experienced swimmers with wetsuits enter water with water temps 70 degrees or below.
