Little shop update:

Lathe is still down, as we are trying to diagnose the issue with customer service. We believe we have nailed down the issue and have the parts in hand to fix.

Parts orders are coming in a bit quicker than usual. Most times we are in the 3 to 5 day range.

Cerakote is still only being done one time a month. If you have Cerakote work to be done, please get your appointment scheduled BEFORE August 8th.

Phone is still the worst way to contact us. Best way is to schedule an appointment...if its something we won't do, we will cancel it and explain why. Second best way is email, however, no quotes will be given without having the firearm in the shop.

Outside that, business is busy, and if you're wanting anything before hunting season, I recommend having it in here NO LATER than August 15th.

Rant...just for a few:

Ok, here's the deal; I'm firing customers.

1. The customer is not always right.
*If I say, I wouldn't do that, I mean it. I talk more people out of restorations, than I talk into restorations. Why? Because restorations are not cheap.
*If I wouldn't put my name on it, or post it here, it's not leaving my shop.
*I'm the expert. If your buddy's friend's cousin was a SEAL and knows more, take it to him.

2. If you don't play by my rules, I don't want your business. It's a matter of mutual respect.
*Quotes won't be given unless it's in the shop. I don't have the time for tire kickers. I am fair, and reasonable on cost. I always quote high once the firearm is in the shop, to prevent sticker shock when you come to pick it up.
*APPOINTMENTS ARE THE ONLY WAY TO BE HERE. From now on, if you show up without an appointment, you will be trespassed from the property. This past week I've had two people just walk into MY HOUSE without appointments. Yes I have a shop. But, my shop is a part OF MY HOUSE. I wouldn't walk into your garage, house, backyard, barn, etc unannounced, DO NOT do it to me.

3. Don't like the timeframe, come pick up your stuff. Someone will take your place, I promise.
*I have a full time job. I have a family. I have a life. This is a side business for fun. FOR FUN. If you want quality, you'll get it. I promise. If you want quick, say I want it by x date. If you say "I'm in no rush," don't be in a rush. I'm completely fine with check ins; such as, "Hey Brett, hope all is well, I stated I was in no rush, but I would like to have it completed by x date, is that possible?" or "Hey I decided I'd like it back sooner, can I pay you for the work you have done and take it somewhere else?" or "Did you run into any difficulties?"

4. Schedule an appointment.
*I feel like we have covered this previously....

*If you're not sure if it's something I will work on, I will contact you first, and if it's not, I will cancel your appointment.

*Full Service Gunsmith means I will work on almost anything. If it's an odd thing you're not sure of, then see the bullet above. Calling and asking if I will work on a G***k or a Re*****on or (insert name here) wastes both of our times. Schedule an appointment. Customers who are serious about getting work done, are serious about getting work done.

A dear friend purchased a used firearm from AIM Surplus, a police used Sig P320. It arrived at the the shop, and upon opening the box, I was immediately concerned...

I disassembled the firearm and decided it definitely needed a deep clean. In order to show the level of filth, I placed all the parts in plastic bags in ultrasonic cleaner, then put it into the machine.

It took 3 rounds of 30 minutes each to get to this point.
