Happy New Year!! I know you are all wondering what is happening with me...I am having a rough time unfortunately...My back is much better and I am thankful that the horrific pain has subsided. I am waiting on an appointment with the heart doctor to discuss the medicine or surgery for my Afib..Meanwhile I got a Christmas present of acute bronchitis..and have developed a huge corn/callus on my right baby toe..having a hard time getting rid of both of these lovely things! Ugh!
Working hard on staying positive and grateful during all of this..Hope life is treating you well. I still plan to teach again...but I understand if you have given up on me...I really miss your faces...and dancing with you all!!!
Cheers! Suzy

Dear Jazzy Peeps...

Well..the summer is coming to an end...and still I am not back to teaching...i know I said I would be more frequent with my updates...but every time I start to share I can't stop crying...I have suffered a set back recently...twisted my body awkwardly and have suffered for it...set me back about 3 weeks...feeling so much better, but still in some pain. I see the orthopedic surgeon on Sept 10...hopefully the X-ray will show I am still healing well and I didn't do any damage..I had been planning on returning to class in Sept..but will wait and see what the Dr says...I am so very sorry...I am devastated...I know that you are all sick of waiting for me...but still, I thank you for your patience..I miss you all..
Cheers to you...Suzy

Who remembers this??? We made a huge hand print material sign..what an awesome memory..

May 25, 1986 — One of the most heartwarming and ambitious events in American history unfolded: Hands Across America. Millions of people from coast to coast joined hands in a massive human chain stretching over 6,600 miles from New York City to Long Beach, California. The goal? To raise awareness and funds to fight hunger and homelessness across the country. It wasn’t just a charity event — it was a powerful visual reminder that when people come together, they can truly create a wave of hope.

The event was a dazzling mix of celebrities, families, students, and everyday folks all united by a shared purpose. Stars like Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, and Diane Sawyer helped draw attention, but it was the ordinary hands — the neighbors, children, and strangers — that made the moment truly magical. For fifteen minutes, Americans literally reached out to one another, proving that community spirit could stretch across cities, states, and time zones.

Hands Across America wasn’t just about the spectacle; it raised millions for food banks and housing programs and inspired a sense of collective responsibility that still resonates today. In a world that often feels divided, looking back at that day reminds us how powerful connection really is — and how much good can happen when we all join hands. It’s an act worth repeating.

Jazzy peeps...

I am sure you are all wondering what is up with me...I admit that this has all been very hard for me...every other surgery, I was back teaching within weeks...but I guess the orthopedic surgeon was not kidding when he cautioned me it could possibly be a whole year before I felt really good😢! It has been a little over 4 months now since my surgery...and, yes, I am much better...so I am doing a lot more...and the more I do...the more I hurt...I have started to practice dancing...which has been hard (so upsetting!) but I am just not ready yet...I'm sorry...I am so very bummed about it! My body has become more accustomed to the medicine I am taking for the atrial fribrillation..haven't had any episodes so that is positive..
PT tells me I am expecting too much too quickly for my back..which only manages to p**s me off..
I am working hard to come back to class, so I ask you once again to be patient with me...and am also working hard to keep my attitude grateful...
My life is still crazy with all the cats and kittens..so that is something for you all to be grateful for...you don't have to
listen to my endless wild stories!!
I miss all your faces so very much and hope that you are all well and still getting some exercise...and also staying positive and grateful!
Just be kind..
Cheers to all of you,
Suzy

Jazzy peeps...

My back is sooo much better..just need to get my stamina back now..Doing PT twice a week..meanwhile.... I have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (remember the issues I was having with my pulse racing??) and they have put me on some major medicine..really slowing me down..I am very bummed..but working to overcome it! I don't handle medicine well..so we will see..have been on the medicine for 4 weeks now...not making me feel great, but don't want to have a stroke either..have been walking...but the medicine is really slowing me down. I had hoped to be back teaching in April..but unfortunately I am just not ready yet...please know that I miss you all..and can't wait to be dancing with you again...
Cheers, Suzy

I have actually been doing too much..so, of course..I am now in some pain...but only when I do too much..patience was never my strong suit!😂 Meanwhile I have been dealing with some other medical issues..so, please bear with me as I figure this out as well...my Mom always joked about the challenges of "getting older"...I think of her often..she was a fighter and so am I..don't give up on me, peeps..I miss your faces and hope to be dancing with you soon!!! Some of you have been contacting me recently and I am realizing that I haven't updated you on my surgery progress...

I had a post-op appointment with the orthopedic surgeons office on January 6! The stitches are healing very well (7 inches!!)! I had hoped they would send me for some PT, but it seems that the disc fusion needs time to "fuse" to the bone..so..still no bending, twisting, lifting, pushing or pulling..I can honestly say that I am not a happy camper..but I am trying to be good..I certainly don't want to do this again..and to be fair they told me up front that it would take at least 3-6 months to recover...I miss working out so very much..and miss you all as well..I hope 2025 is being good to you...and you are taking care of yourselves!!

In the future...I promise to keep you more informed..back to the doctor on Feb. 5..hopefully they will start PT then!! Thanks for understanding! Don't give up on me yet..

Cheers!! Suzy
