Bill Hilts Jr.: April 1 inland trout opener approaches The April 1 opener for the inland trout fishing regular season is just around the corner, and it still generates excitement within the angling community.

THIS SATURDAY we’ll be in Rochester for the Fly Fishers Workshop hosted by the Seth Green Chapter of Trout Unlimited

If you’re not familiar, this is one of the largest fly fishing events in upstate NY. It’s a full day dedicated to the sport and conservation, featuring educational seminars, fly tying demonstrations, casting instruction, over 75 industry vendors, raffles, and opportunities to connect with guides, clubs, and fellow anglers.

It’s a great event whether you’re just getting into fly fishing or you’ve been at it for decades.

The Hairy Trout will have a table set up for the day along with 716 Fly Fishing — stop by, check out some gear, and talk fishing with us.
