Phil Simms just said what a lot of Giants fans were already thinking.

Jaxson Dart flew straight from OTA practice to San Antonio on a private jet with OBJ to watch the Knicks win Game 1. Giants legend Phil Simms went on record and told Dart to calm it down. Said too much spotlight in the offseason becomes ammunition when things go wrong.

And it’s hard not to draw the comparison. 2017. Miami. OBJ hosts a yacht party days before the Giants play a Wild Card game. Giants show up flat and get blown out by the Packers. The yacht party became one of the most infamous distraction stories in recent NFL history.

Now OBJ is back in a Giants uniform. And the first thing people see is him pulling the young franchise QB onto a private jet during OTAs.

Same guy. Same energy. Different quarterback.

Giants fans have every right to ask the question. Is Odell Beckham Jr. a bad influence on Jaxson Dart and this rebuild?
