After 49 years of running the West Side Street Hockey Program,Tovie Asarese, regrettably, will have to give it up. His legs prevent him from continuing.
Tovie enjoyed providing it for our youth to play during the winter months. A lot of good has come from it. The program has been very successful from the start. Many have a lot of good memories of the program.
The Good News: The City of Buffalo Recreation Department will continue the Street Hockey Program. You can register your child at the Asarese-Matters Center. (The same place that the games are played – 50 Rees Street near Bradley). Monday through Friday from 2:30-9:00 p.m. during the month of November. There will be No Registration Fee. The age divisions are 8-10, 11-12 & 13-15. Tell your friends to join. The more players the better. For more information call the center at: 886-1040. The games are played indoors. All divisions are non-checking.

Street Hockey League forming to start playing in early December. No checking, all games are played indoors in the Asarese-Matters Center, at Grant and Bradley Streets.

No experience necessary. Ages 8-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-16.

Schedules will be posted tonight! However, this is just a reminder that the games for tonight have canceled. Please contact your coach immediately if you can not make your games and give them plenty of notice so we can have things run as smooth as possible and hopefully not have anymore forfeits or missed games due to poor communication. The 2013 season hockey banquets will be held at Casa Da Pizza on Elmwood ave. Tuesday April 9Th is the 8 - 10 yr olds. Thursday April the 11th is the 11-12 year old age group. Thursday April 18th is the 13 - 15 division. please contact royal printing with any question and make sure to respond to the post cards mailed to you. If you have not received one they will arrive shortly. However, if you have not received one by the first of April please contact us.

All banquet times and dates will be posted tomorrow. please make sure to reply to the post card sent to you so we can have an exact number of dinners prepared. This helps both the families as well as the staff to ensure a fun and smooth running evening

More information to come soon... There will be a short skills compitition before the All-Star games that will incudle stick handeling, agility, shooting accuracy and for the goalies as well a shoot out.
