Frank Joseph Offermann, Sr (1876 - 1935) - Find A Grave Memorial
September 17, 1960. The Baseball era at the corner of Michigan and E. Ferry ends as the Bisons close out the season with a playoff loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5-3 at Offermann Stadium. The Bisons move down Masten Ave. to the Rockpile for the '61 season. By the time the decade ends the team is close to death and in June of 1970 the Bisons are moved to Winnipeg by the parent Expos. It will be over 8 years later that the team triumphantly returns, this time to the AA Eastern League.

I was extremely saddened to hear of Frank J. Offermann's passing this morning. Frank was the son of Frank J. Offermann Sr. who was President and part owner of the Buffalo Bisons in the 1920's and 30's. I am extremely happy that we could get the plaque in the ground at the stadium site so that Frank and his brother Paul could see it. He was so thrilled when he saw it that day last year which also turned out to be his birthday. We will all miss you Frank.
