When I arrived at the barn tonight this was waiting. While all the horses deserve the red carpet treatment, this color is much more suited to the chestnuts and bays in our aisle All the mats were moved to in front of all the stalls and no one slips any more. It's so wonderful. A very special thank you to Vondra for this amazing gift. The horses and I truly appreciate it.

I would like to again thank all of the people who have been there to help out with whatever needed to be done this week. I think that Mia must have a magic wand that she brings out, shakes it, and things just happen. It doesn't hurt for her to have her very own Fairy Godmother and Godfather.

Hands On Horses is so blessed to have such wonderful horses including our newest, "Tucker" And, we are surrounded by so many wonderful people. Everything was taken care of today before I could even blink. New walls went up to keep Mia relaxed... The vet was there in a heartbeat... The other horses were taken care of... Coffee was delivered (even though Lola knocked it over)... So many people stopped by to say hello. Thank you to everyone. As soon as I catch my breath, I'll post more pictures.

We will not be quite ready to host our Open House next Tuesday, May 24th. As soon as the final touches are done, we will celebrate with our Open House and get to the business of Hands On Horses. Hopefully very soon... thank you for understanding.

ps... maybe Mia's baby will be born by then. The vet told us on Tuesday that he had a miniature that went 385 days!! Can you even imagine what it would be like to be pregnant for almost 13 months?

• To help veterans with physical and emotional challenges find strength, independence and peace through the power of bonding with a horse.

Do any of my horse friends have any extra/old stall mats that I can have, borrow, buy? The aisle in front of Mia's stall is cement and I worry with the new baby on the way that he/she will slip on the cement and get hurt. And I thought my baby proofing days were over... Please let me know. Thank you very much.

Hands On Horses was pleased to be part of the Fiesta Charity Horse Show. It was a beautiful day to be outside and be part of something that benefits cancer research

Hands On Horses participated in our first public event yesterday. ASPCA's National Help At Horse Day. It was at the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter. Kate, Stacey and I had such a nice day and we met lots of new people. I always feel so good and so inspired when I'm in the same room, working on the same project, participating in same activity with people who all have the same common goal. Whether it's PTA, or helping animals, or women's groups. There is power in numbers.

Pictures just can't seem to convey just how huge Mia is. It's 9:45 and I'm just sitting here with her knowing full well that she would never have her foal while I'm here. Maybe tonight ...

Hands On Horses is excited to be part of National Help A Horse Day.

I would have never thought it was possible to be this wide.

While most of Los Angeles is on Storm Watch, we at Hands On Horses are on Baby Watch! Mia naps a lot now but with a baby bump like that, I would too.

My husband and my son are at the top of the list of males that make my heart go 'pitter, patter'. Then there's this guy. He always takes my breath away and he gives great kisses. Not everything at Hands on Horses is little and cuddly.

This is Lola. She was my birthday present from me to me. I get as excited about a new pony at age 56 as I did at age 8. She's 11 months old and was barely halter broke. After three weeks, she now leads like an old pro and enjoys being brushed. She'll be ready for Hands On Horses in no time.

This was my afternoon office today. It was great. Got to be outside and hang out with the horses for a few hours. Life is good.
