Over the past 3 months I have gained some 10-15lbs. and cant help feeling a bit disgusted in myself. So beginning next Monday I will be attempting my first Juice diet! No, I wont be skipping my morning coffee with coconut milk and maple syrup but I am hopeful to get through the afternoon/evening on juices, water and tea for at least 3 days..... Wish me luck and I will keep you posted on my progress.
Bosu ball work can be so beneficial when teaching athletes the proper body mechanics with regards to weight distribution forward on pads and toes with shoulders shifted over knees. Reminding them to have a wide and balanced base (footing.)

This is a great way to encourage athletes to fully extend their arm when swinging to serve or attack the ball. Players often quickly realize the importance of extending after hitting thier elbow on the wall a few times.
This drill helps athletes focus on their guiding light hand tucking to their belly button as they swing to attack the ball.
This drill is used to focus on the follow through upon swinging when attacking the ball. Guiding light hand is up- tracking the ball, then as our hitting arm swings to replace it. The guiding light hand will tuck to touch belly button while the hitting hard will wrap around to the opposite pocket.
This drill is used to help athletes extend their arm up completely in order to contact the ball rather than making contact with a bent elbow.
This pose is used just before making contact on the ball when attacking. We use our "guiding light" hand to track the ball, before replacing that hand with our hitting hand on swing.
One arm alternating passes. It's been years since I've practiced this but I am pretty impressed with myself for making my goal of 30 alternating passes, even if it was on the 3rd try. If at first you dont succeed- try again!

Ball control is key when playing volleyball. Once you are able to pass consistently try challenging yourself to pass with one arm.
Once you are able to pass to yourself, you should be able to pass to a partner or team mate. Here are some great drills to help with ball control.
